Accounts Receivable Clerk

Based in Welshpool, AMCAP is a leading parts distributor in Australia servicing the automotive, commercial and industrial sectors. We are a stable organisation that has been operating in WA since 1968. AMCAP is part of Eagers Automotive which is Australia’s largest motoring group and is an Australian Stock Exchange listed company.   

We have an opportunity for a hands-on and experienced Accounts Receivable Officer to join our AR team to manage our Automotive Debtors (about 500 active customer accounts across 2 company codes).  The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills with great attention to detail.

 
Your duties will include:

• Open new Debtor accounts and maintain existing ones. 
• Daily processing of bank statements and allocation of customer payments. (Large remittances are converted from pdf to Excel and usually require a reconciliation using Excel formulas).
• Payment variances are to be recorded on the account and followed up with the customer.
• Daily collection of Credit Card slips and management of Cash Accounts.
• Reconciliation of the Credit Card accounts.
• Process of account payments via credit card.
• Process customer reimbursements.
• Review sales orders that are blocked due to debtor accounts with aging or credit limit issues.
• Follow up of debtors with overdue balances. Record actions taken in notes.
• Creation of Sundry invoices for Regional Freight and other purposes.
• Actioning email requests in the Shared AR email account.
• Send out monthly remittance advices.
• Back-up for the person managing the Mining debtors.

Expected qualifications, experience and competencies:

• More than 2 years’ experience in Accounts Receivable
• Knowledge of ERP system would be advantageous
• Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills  (eg.for reconciliation of remittances)
• Good English and communication skills
• Accurate processing and high attention to detail
