About Fence

Fence is building the modern infrastructure for asset-backed finance.

We help asset originators and capital providers operate financing facilities through connected data, asset verification, ongoing monitoring, calculations, reporting and automated and instant cash-flow management.

Our platform brings these operational workflows together so investors can have maximum transparency and control without burdening asset originators. We provide the flexible, efficient and effective operating system of SPVs so capital, assets and information move instantly, 24/7.

The work to be done

You will build Fence's European commercial function, understanding originator and capital provider needs, originating your own opportunities initially and driving them through signature and onboarding launched by Operations.

• Build and manage the Business Development team to ensure a healthy pipeline that fits the planned growth of the company.

• Build and manage the Account Executive team to ensure we match clients' requirements and needs.

• Turn stakeholder maps, deal diagnoses, proposals and handoffs into a commercial process your team can repeat.

• Originate and own the largest relationships in our pipeline. Develop direct relationships with major capital providers and partners.

• Run opportunity definition with originators and capital providers. Understand the transaction, investor concerns, data sources and dependencies, and where Fence can deliver value.

• Own proposals, pricing, negotiation and signature of transactions.

• Work with Product and Operations to meet client needs and requirements.

What we expect

• You can manage a team of 3-5 and coordinate pipeline generation and opportunity closing in parallel.

• You are curious and can learn product capabilities, partners and clients need fast. You ask useful discovery questions, learn quickly and apply new information to your diagnosis.

• You can reason through complex financial transactions and explain the tradeoffs clearly.

• You can personally drive a commercial opportunity, keep it organized and find ways through obstacles.

• Direct ABF experience and people management are especially valuable, but neither is an absolute requirement.

How we work

We are an ambitious team building in a complex market.

We value direct ownership, clear writing, fast learning, and high precision. We move quickly, but not casually: the work touches financial workflows where correctness matters.
