Wild Card

Menlo is always hiring.

• Maybe you're a designer with an anthropology habit 🗿.

• An ex-marine turned roboticist 🤖.

• A community builder who speaks fluent Rustacean 🦀.

• Or maybe you're something we don't have a title for yet 👽.

That's who the Wild Card is for. The hybrid thinkers, the obsessives, the ones who don't fit neatly in a box and know they belong here anyway. Most companies don't have a slot for people like you. We built one. If that's you, let's talk.

The mindsets we hire for:

• Fast and curious. You learn in public and ship before you feel ready.

• Obsessed outliers. You go deep on things most people never notice.

• We hire for how fast you grow, not where you're starting from.

• Underdogs. You've been counted out before and proved it wrong.

• We run like a pro sports team: best players in their roles, hire and cut smartly, but give teams the continuity to gel and win together.

What you'll get:

• Real ownership, with the freedom to build what actually matters.

• Room to do your life's best work without contorting yourself to fit a mold.

• Some of the most curious and mission-driven people you'll ever work alongside.

• Robots that actually move. Your work ships to hardware, not a slide or a paper

Pitch to Us:

There's no checklist here, so make the case yourself. Tell us:

• What you're unreasonably good at, and how you know.

• The project you'd show a stranger to explain who you are.

• Where you'd fit at Menlo, or the role you'd invent for yourself.

• Why now, and why us.

About Menlo
Menlo Research is an Applied R&D lab building Asimov, an open-source humanoid robot platform, and the full software stack that powers it. Our mission is to make humanoid labor economically viable -- turning software into physical labor at scale. We build across the full stack: hardware architecture, locomotion, autonomy, simulation, and infrastructure. We move fast, ship to real robots, and open-source everything we can. If you want your work to matter beyond a paper or a demo, this is the place.

A Note on AI

You don't need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect everyone at Menlo to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement. When that's the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don't treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.

Equal Opportunity and Accommodations

We hire talented people from a wide range of backgrounds. If you're excited about a role but don't meet every bullet, we still encourage you to apply. Menlo Research is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected characteristic. Menlo provides reasonable accommodations during the application process. If you need one, please let your recruiter know.
