About the role:

Join Origin's Commercial Asset Services team and help shape smarter, more informed business decisions across a portfolio of energy assets and projects. This is an opportunity to combine hands-on cost control with commercial insight, financial analysis and stakeholder partnering to improve cost performance, drive value and support the delivery of critical energy outcomes.

Why the role matters?

In this role, you'll provide robust cost control and valuable commercial and financial insight that helps teams make better decisions, identify opportunities, manage risk and maintain visibility of cost performance across a complex portfolio.

You'll:

• Partner with budget owners, project managers and operational teams to establish cost baselines, maintain accurate forecasts and influence commercial and financial outcomes.
• Monitor actual costs, commitments and accruals, investigate variances and provide forward-looking insights on cost trends, risks and opportunities.
• Support budget submissions, forecasting, month-end processes and performance reporting across a diverse portfolio, including maintaining estimate-at-completion positions.
• Maintain strong cost control disciplines, including cost coding, change control and data integrity, while identifying cost-saving opportunities and supporting continuous improvement.
• Leverage ERP systems, data and reporting tools to improve cost transparency, governance and business performance.

What will you bring?

We're looking for someone who enjoys bringing structure and discipline to cost management, turning complex financial data into actionable insights and building strong relationships across a business.

• Experience in cost control, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, variance analysis, accruals, commitments and performance reporting within an asset, operational or project environment.
• Confidence working with ERP systems, financial data and analytical tools to maintain accurate cost information and solve business problems.
• Ability to communicate cost and financial information clearly, work constructively with stakeholders and challenge assumptions where required.
• A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on strengthening cost control processes, streamlining reporting and improving ways of working.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

So, why join us?

• Discounted Origin products benefits for employees, including Electrical, Gas and Internet offers!
• 21 weeks of paid parental leave for primary carers with flexible return options.
• Competitive salary + annual performance bonus + performance based reviews
• Origin 360 Electric Vehicles (EV) employee subscription offers a fantastic range of EVs, with flexible month-to-month plans and no lock-in contract.
