Who we are

We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.

Evolution Mining is a premier global gold company operating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.

When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.

What’s the opportunity?

We are seeking a hands-on Automation Technician to join a high-performing team supporting underground mining operations at Ernest Henry.

This is not a purely IT or trade role, it sits at the intersection of automation, networks, and heavy equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance and optimisation of autonomous and semi-autonomous mining systems, supporting a fleet of underground loaders and associated control systems.

Working across both field and control environments, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring systems remain operational, troubleshooting issues in real time, and keeping production moving.

A few things you’ll be doing in the role:

• Troubleshooting and maintaining underground automation systems (e.g. Sandvik AutoMine, fleet management systems)
• Diagnosing faults across hardware, software, network, and operational systems
• Maintaining and supporting underground Wi-Fi / communications infrastructure
• Installing and commissioning automation equipment and infrastructure
• Monitoring system performance including telemetry, video feeds and machine health
• Supporting autonomous operations from surface control systems when required
• Working closely with Mining, Maintenance and IT teams to support production outcomes
• Contributing to optimisation and continuous improvement of automation performance.

Why Ernest Henry Operations?

Ernest Henry is a cornerstone asset in our portfolio. It has high-quality equipment, high standards and great management team. With a mine life to 2040 and doubled ore reserves, there are countless opportunities for people to evolve and give their career an uplift.
