Supply Chain Engineer

Imagine being in a place where engineering meets procurement, shaping how high-performance aerospace hardware goes from drawing board to production floor. As a Supply Chain Engineer at Destinus, you are not just sourcing parts, you are engineering the supply base. You work hands on with suppliers to make sure components are manufacturable cost efficient and ready to scale without compromising performance or quality.

At Destinus, we are revolutionizing the defense industry with cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Our innovative technologies are designed to meet the unique demands of modern defense operations, delivering unparalleled speed, precision, and cost effectiveness. Destinus partners with government agencies and defense organizations worldwide to provide advanced solutions for mission-critical operations, enabling a new era of efficiency and technological superiority. Join us in shaping the future of defense with groundbreaking aerospace innovations

What You'll Do

• Lead supplier industrialisation activities from prototype through serial production, ensuring designs are manufacturable, repeatable and ready to scale.
• Assess and optimise manufacturing methods including CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, plastics manufacturing, additive manufacturing and mechanical assembly.
• Drive design-for-manufacture, design-for-assembly and value-engineering initiatives to improve cost, lead time, quality and production robustness.
• Evaluate supplier capability, capacity and manufacturing resilience to support long-term production scalability.
• Challenge manufacturing routes, materials, tolerances, specifications and tooling concepts to ensure commercially viable and scalable production solutions.
• Support supplier qualification, capability assessments, first article inspections, process validation and production ramp-up activities.
• Drive supplier performance improvements through industrialisation, corrective actions, manufacturing process optimisation and capability development.
• Use manufacturing, quality, delivery and cost data to identify risks, prioritise improvement activities and support supplier development decisions.
• Work across Engineering, Production, Quality and Procurement to resolve manufacturing constraints, improve supplier performance and enable successful production ramp-up.
• Translate manufacturing evidence, supplier capability assessments and industrialisation plans into clear technical recommendations.

Requirements

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.

• 5+ years' experience within manufacturing, production engineering, supplier industrialisation or a similar environment.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes including:

• CNC machining

• Sheet metal fabrication and forming

• Welding and fabricated assemblies

• Additive manufacturing

• Mechanical assembly

• Experience industrialising products from prototype through serial production.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing cost drivers, value engineering and design-for-manufacture principles.

• Ability to assess supplier capability, capacity, process maturity and production scalability.

• Strong drawing interpretation, GD&T and tolerance analysis skills.

• Experience supporting supplier qualification, first article inspection, process validation and production ramp-up activities.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on engineering mindset.

• Fluent English as the working language.

Nice to Have

• Experience with plastics manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, thermoforming or similar.
• Experience with composite manufacturing technologies and tooling.
• Experience within aerospace, defence or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience industrialising electro-mechanical products and assemblies.

Who You Are

You are a practical mechanical manufacturing engineer who understands how designs become repeatable parts on the shop floor. You are comfortable walking through a supplier's process, questioning the proposed manufacturing route and explaining what must change before production can scale.

You combine technical depth with decisive execution. You bring manufacturing evidence into decisions, close actions with suppliers and strengthen the SCE function without creating overlap with sourcing strategy or commercial ownership.
