Developer In Test

Who we are:

We’re a Toronto-based SaaS company with over 15 years of experience helping businesses establish, maintain, and optimize their home service programs. We specialize in enterprise-scale lead management software designed specifically for the home services industry, built to handle the complexity and volume that large operations demand.

Centah Flint, our field lead capture app, lets teams capture leads and book appointments on the spot from real-time availability, and our North American Contact Center supports clients across the United States and Canada. We’re more than a software provider - we’re an end-to-end partner to make your home service program run smarter and more efficiently.

About the role:

As a Developer-in-Test you will bring the use of automation, software engineering, and up to date test practices to our agile team collaborating with Developers, DevOps, QA, and Product. You will provide Software Quality support by automating the build-test-deploy lifecycle for a wide variety of services. Although this role focuses mainly on automated testing, you will also dive into manual testing as needed.

We’re looking for someone comfortable operating in a variety of test automation frameworks and has proven experience creating and designing tests. With collaboration as a key trait, they are also able to advise on adjustments to ensure testing covers and meets the high standards we set up to achieve with our SaaS platform. Designing with testability in mind, you have written and tested your own software and don’t test quality into the product, you build quality into the product.

What you'll be doing:

• Design, write, and maintain scalable automated test suites across all layers (Unit, Integration, API, and End-to-End) and reduce redundancy in test automation
• Focus test scenarios from customer perspective both positive/negative, intention rather than implementation, while reviewing and identifying false generated positives
• Pair with development team members to implement tests at all levels, advising on unit vs. integration coverage and what tests to skip at the E2E layer
• Mentor peers on QA best practices, test design patterns, clean code in test repos, and the Testing Pyramid
• Work with Product, Business, and Engineering stakeholders to translate requirements into risk-focused test scenarios (covering both positive and negative cases).
• Participate in implementation of CI/CD pipelines for new products and monitor CI/CD pipelines, quality of builds, and analyze test failures
• Perform targeted manual testing to catch edge cases, mitigate defects early, and convert findings into repeatable automated tests.
