About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Manufacturing Test Engineer to play a key role in designing, developing and supporting the electronic test hardware and systems that underpin our global manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Test Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for developing the test equipment, PCB assemblies and fixtures that ensure our products consistently meet the highest standards of quality, reliability and performance.

This is a hardware-focused engineering role, ideally suited to someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and seeing products come to life on the manufacturing floor. While experience with LabVIEW is desirable, your greatest strengths will be your electronics hardware expertise, fault-finding capability and ability to translate engineering requirements into robust, scalable manufacturing test solutions.

Working across the full product lifecycle, you will support New Product Introduction (NPI), production ramp-up and the ongoing enhancement of existing manufacturing test infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with design, manufacturing and quality teams to ensure efficient, reliable and repeatable test processes that support world-class product delivery.

This is a full-time, onsite position based at our Mawson Lakes facility. The role also supports our manufacturing operations in Malaysia and will involve occasional travel to our Malaysian manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain electronic test hardware, PCB assemblies, jigs and fixtures used within manufacturing test equipment.
• Develop automated and manual test solutions for PCBAs, embedded systems and final product assemblies.
• Prepare test requirements, test plans and manufacturing test strategies to support New Product Introduction (NPI) through to full-scale production.
• Design schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
• Develop, implement and maintain LabVIEW and Python-based test applications.
• Install, commission, validate and optimise manufacturing test systems, instrumentation, jigs and fixtures.
• Analyse manufacturing and test data to verify product quality, performance and process capability.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing teams and collaborate with design engineers to resolve product and test-related issues.
• Conduct root cause investigations and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test capability, manufacturing efficiency and throughput.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and test documentation.
• Train technicians and manufacturing personnel in the operation and maintenance of manufacturing test systems and equipment.

About You

You hold a bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline and have experience designing electronics hardware for manufacturing test environments.

You bring practical experience with test instrumentation, measurement techniques and automated test development, ideally including LabVIEW. Experience with bed-of-nails fixtures, functional testers, PCBA-level testing, and RF testing and troubleshooting will be highly regarded.

You are a practical and analytical engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and developing reliable manufacturing test solutions. You can manage competing priorities, communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders and work collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing and quality teams. Your proactive approach, attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes will enable you to thrive in this role.

This is an outstanding opportunity to take ownership of manufacturing test development, support global New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and make a direct contribution to the performance and quality of Codan's world-class Metal Detection and RF products.

Benefits and Culture

Our culture is supportive and collaborative. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team where we share our ideas and innovation is strongly encouraged.  We are looking for someone with genuine passion and can-do attitude for what they do.

Our Head office is located in Mawson Lakes offering a spacious, modern facility, free secure onsite parking, easy access via public transport, and an onsite subsidised café. We also have recreational facilities including a gym, basketball and tennis court, as well as various game tables. Additionally, our staff are provided flexibility to meet the demands of family life, a child-friendly parenting room, and a variety of staff events to connect with colleagues across the Codan Group.
