Technical Pre Sales Engineer

About Us:

DeepJudge is Switzerland’s leading AI and ICT scale-up, transforming how law firms and legal departments access and leverage their knowledge. Founded by former Google search engineers with PhDs in AI from ETH Zurich, and backed by top-tier Silicon Valley investors, we are building the intelligence layer that powers the legal industry.

Every firm can license the same AI models, but no two firms share the same institutional knowledge. Decades of experience, work product, and precedent are often trapped across systems, underused and inaccessible. DeepJudge makes this expertise instantly available through world-class enterprise search and AI infrastructure, enabling firms to automate workflows, build knowledge-powered applications, and turn experience into a lasting advantage.

Our technology is trusted by many of the world’s leading law firms, including Freshfields, Gunderson Dettmer, Holland & Knight, Arent Fox, and Cozen O’Connor. Headquartered in Switzerland with a growing team across North America, we are expanding rapidly and shaping the future of how professional knowledge is discovered and applied.

At DeepJudge, we move fast, think rigorously, and care deeply about what we build. We combine cutting-edge research with close collaboration with our clients to deliver solutions that truly make an impact. If you want to be part of a team defining how AI transforms high-stakes knowledge work, this is the place to do it.

About the role:

As our first dedicated pre-sales hire, you'll own the technical side of the sales process end to end. Today this work is spread across our CTO, and Solutions Architects team. You'll take it over and shape it into something scalable. You'll partner with prospects during their most important technical conversations, helping them understand how DeepJudge fits into their firm. These are technically demanding deals: top law firms and corporate legal teams apply serious security scrutiny, run complex enterprise environments spanning document management systems and identity providers, and weigh on-prem against cloud deployment, all against datasets that can run to hundreds of millions of documents. You'll be the person who can speak credibly to all of it. It's an opportunity to define a function from the ground up while working directly with some of the most elite law firms and corporate customers in the world.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading technical discovery, demos, and complex Q&A on product, deployment, security, and integrations for late-stage and large prospects

• Serving as the trusted technical advisor to Sales throughout the deal cycle, and managing the handoff to the deployments team

• Owning and continuously improving our sales-facing technical documentation and collateral, including security overviews, deployment guides, integration references, and demo materials

• Partnering with Sales, Revenue, Product, and Engineering to answer technical and product questions and feed customer insight back into positioning and roadmap

• Building a repeatable, scalable pre-sales process as we grow

You're a great fit if you:

• Have 4+ years in a client-facing, technical, or analytical role. Sales engineering and solution architecture are natural fits, but we equally welcome people from consulting, engineering, and other technical or professional services backgrounds

• Can understand a complex product deeply and explain it clearly and persuasively to any audience, from law firm partners and C-level executives to IT leaders and engineers

• Are genuinely excited about technology, software, and AI, and curious about the legal space. You're comfortable getting into infrastructure details, integration details, and security, and you have a clear track record of ramping fast on technical topics

• Have a strong ownership instinct and thrive with limited hand-holding. You can run a process, build documentation, and manage stakeholders on your own

• Are energized by a fast-moving startup environment rather than a highly structured one

• Bonus points if you have direct sales engineering or pre-sales experience, a background in legal tech, enterprise search, or AI/ML platforms, or experience building process and documentation from scratch.

What you can look forward to:

• Real ownership of the entire technical pre-sales process, working closely with Sales, Revenue, Engineering/Product, and Deployments

• The chance to build and define a function from day one, with room to grow as the team scales

• Exposure to the highest-tier law firms and legal teams in the industry

• A collaborative team that values flexibility, rigor, and agency, working on genuinely hard problems collaboratively

At DeepJudge, we believe great teams are built on diverse perspectives and experiences. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture where everyone can thrive. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

If this role excites you, but you feel you don’t meet every qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway and tell us why you’d be a great fit.
