This role is designed for an engineer with six or more years of experience who is ready to take full ownership of projects from concept through construction, serve as a primary point of contact for clients, and mentor junior engineers on the team. You will apply your deep technical expertise to deliver safe, efficient, and code-compliant structural solutions while helping shape the direction of our Sacramento practice.
What You’ll Do
• Lead structural analysis and design on projects of varying scale and complexity, applying industry-standard software and engineering judgment to deliver sound, efficient solutions
• Own the development of structural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation, ensuring full compliance with applicable codes and standards
• Conduct site assessments and evaluations to identify structural requirements and potential challenges
• Lead coordination with multidisciplinary teams including architects, MEP engineers, and contractors, driving project alignment and successful execution
• Review and approve construction documents, shop drawings, and submittals for structural compliance, providing clear and timely feedback
• Manage construction administration independently, providing technical guidance and resolving on-site structural issues with confidence and authority
• Optimize structural designs for cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and constructability
• Keep project files and documentation organized and audit-ready
• Keep pace with evolving building codes, industry standards, and best practices, and bring that knowledge into your daily work
• Present technical findings and recommendations clearly to clients, team members, and stakeholders
• Serve as the primary client contact on assigned projects, building trusted relationships and managing expectations through clear, proactive communication
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, coordinating with project managers to keep deliverables on track and within fee
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and Engineering Designers, reviewing their work and supporting their technical development
• Support business development efforts including proposal writing, client presentations, and identifying opportunities to expand existing client relationships
