Head Of Sales

About LawY

Join a team that's transforming how 90,000+ lawyers work every day. At LawY, you're not selling generic AI: you're helping legal professionals reclaim their time and deliver better outcomes for their clients and stakeholders. Built by lawyers (half our team are practising or former lawyers), we've spent three years listening, learning, and evolving. We launched our standalone subscription across multiple jurisdiction in February this year, and it is now time to capitalise on our early momentum and establish a market leading brand. This is where you come in!

You'll be joining at the most exciting inflection point: we've proven product-market fit, our users genuinely love what we've built, and we're scaling from an integrated offering to a standalone platform that lawyers actually want to adopt. No complex lock-in contracts: just month-to-month subscriptions that deliver value from day one. If you want to build something that genuinely helps people do meaningful work better, this is it.

This is an environment built around innovation, experimentation, and moving quickly. Small team, real momentum, and a global ambition. You'll work alongside talented people who care deeply about all aspects of the platform.

What you'll do

We're looking for our first Head of Sales to build and lead the function from the ground up. You'll be hands-on from day one: closing deals, shaping strategy, and scaling a team that helps lawyers reclaim their time with AI they actually trust.

This is an opportunity to establish the brand, build a high-quality network of law firms, and shape how the platform grows in major legal markets. As the Head of Sales you'll report to the Chief Executive Officer. You're responsible for scaling the standalone platform - acquiring new users, helping them succeed on the platform, coaching the frontline team, and laying the foundations for sustainable growth. This is a hands-on market-building role: you won't inherit a perfect sales team, a mature playbook, or a historic, established local brand. You'll refine the existing sales team - a talented pool lawyers who have pivoted into tech - and build the rest.

To make this happen, you will:

• Own and drive revenue growth from day one, building a repeatable sales process that converts leads into loyal customers across solo practitioners, small firms, in-house legal teams and professional services that operate adjacent to the legal industry.
• Lead the full sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery through to close and handover, becoming an expert in how lawyers work and what they need to adopt AI confidently.
• Build and scale the sales function from scratch, establishing the systems, processes, operating rhythm and playbooks that will support LawY's growth as we expand our standalone subscription.
• Train and mentor the sales team (adding to it as necessary) as we scale, creating a high-performing culture that balances commercial drive with genuine care for customer outcomes.
• Refine our go-to-market strategy to optimise for conversion and retention.
• Partner closely with marketing and product to ensure we're building what lawyers need, communicating it effectively, and delivering exceptional experiences post-purchase.
• Own sales forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting, giving leadership clear visibility into revenue performance and growth opportunities.
• Represent LawY at industry events, conferences, and in customer conversations, building relationships that drive word-of-mouth referrals and long-term partnerships.
• Continuously test, learn, and iterate on what works, bringing a growth mindset and hands-on approach to everything from outreach emails to playbooks.
• Know our competition, and stay current on market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies in legal tech.

What you'll bring

• Experience leading sales teams in the SaaS/Digital Product industry
• Background in a startup environment – comfortable being hands-on, with no established playbook to lean on.
• Proven track record of personally closing deals and improving retention outcomes.
• Proven track record of building sales processes from the ground up, with experience establishing the systems, playbooks and metrics that drive predictable revenue growth.
• Experience selling to professional services clients (lawyers, accountants, consultants) is highly valued, with an appreciation for their unique buying behaviours and decision-making processes.
• Confident using HubSpot CRM.

You are the type of person who

• Wants to build something, not just execute a playbook someone else wrote.
• You get as much energy from closing a deal yourself as from coaching someone else to close theirs.
• You can hold the big picture – market, brand, go-to-market strategy – and the detail of a single customer conversation at the same time.
• You care as much about customer outcomes as the number on the board.

Why join LawY?

• Rare greenfield leadership role with end-to-end revenue ownership. Directly influence churn, retention and product direction.

• Make an impact. You won't be another 'cog in the wheel' here. We give full trust and autonomy for you to be heard, to work on big & complex projects – and to make a real difference.
• Work with a group of authentic, passionate people who love what they do.
