About the Opportunity

Albireo Energy is investing aggressively in its Mission Critical business, with data centers representing one of the company’s largest and fastest-growing areas of opportunity. We are seeking a Director of Operations to help lead and scale this business during an exciting period of growth.

Why This Role Matters

Data center investment is accelerating rapidly, creating significant opportunities for Albireo Energy and its Mission Critical division. The Director of Operations will play a critical role in helping the organization capitalize on this growth while maintaining the safety, quality, financial performance, and execution discipline expected in mission critical environments.

This role offers the opportunity to:

• Help lead one of Albireo Energy’s fastest-growing businesses as investment in data centers and mission critical infrastructure continues to accelerate.
• Build an organization from the ground up, hiring and developing leaders and technical delivery teams that will support the company’s growth.
• Make a lasting organizational impact by establishing scalable operating practices, developing talent, and creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Engage with the broader mission critical community, including data center owners and operators, industry providers, seminars, conferences, and networking groups.
• Work directly with senior stakeholders and executives, representing Albireo Energy with credibility, confidence, and strong executive presence.
• Shape the future of Albireo Energy’s Mission Critical business at a time of significant investment and expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Talent Development

• Lead a geographically dispersed team across a rapidly growing business.

• Effectively manage people, organizational dynamics, and conflict with maturity and sound judgment.
• Create an environment where high performers can grow their capabilities and assume increasing leadership responsibility.

Operational Excellence & Scale

• Develop and implement scalable operating processes that support rapid growth while preserving flexibility and entrepreneurial speed.
• Establish consistent execution standards without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

• Bring deep industry knowledge and technical credibility to the organization, with data center and mission critical experience strongly preferred.
• Leverage firsthand experience executing data center or other mission critical projects and operating within demanding mission critical environments.
• Understand the unique requirements of data center customers, including uptime, safety, schedule, quality, reliability, and operational risk.
• Provide leadership and technical perspective to project and delivery teams.
• Build strong relationships with owners, operators, providers, and other industry stakeholders.

Financial & Business Management

• Manage the financial performance of a project-based business, including forecasting, resource utilization, margins, and overall operational performance.
• Partner with project and business leaders to ensure disciplined financial management and execution.
• Balance growth objectives with profitability, capacity, quality, and customer commitments.
• Develop the operational infrastructure and management practices necessary to scale the business sustainably.
