Overview

The Senior Manager, Internal Communications is responsible for turning business priorities into communications, programs, and experiences that inform, engage, and enable employees. This role ensures employees receive the right information at the right time through a strategic, streamlined approach to internal communications, while balancing long-term planning with hands-on execution across content, governance, employee programs, and digital touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy & Governance: Own internal communications strategy, planning, platforms, and governance to deliver effective, employee-focused communications that support business objectives.

• Content Development: Create content and messaging that drive awareness, understanding, and engagement around key priorities, initiatives, organizational updates, change efforts, etc.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with stakeholders across the organization, including executive leadership, to understand priorities, identify communication needs, and serve as a strategic advisor.

• Employee Experience: Oversee employee engagement and recognition programs, internal events, digital employee touchpoints, and related vendor relationships that support the employee experience.

• Team Leadership: Foster accountability, collaboration, and professional growth while ensuring effective execution of team priorities.

What You'll Bring

• Strategic Thinking: Ability to connect business priorities to a clear communications strategy while balancing immediate needs with longer-term objectives.

• Ownership & Agility: A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, and move work forward with limited direction while managing multiple priorities and shifting deadlines.

• Proactive Mindset: Ability to identify communication needs, gaps, and opportunities and proactively recommend solutions rather than waiting for direction.

• Influence & Accountability: Confidence to establish and enforce communication standards, challenge requests, and make decisions that improve communication effectiveness across the organization.

• Executive Presence: Credibility and judgment to advise senior leaders, shape messaging, and navigate sensitive or high-impact communications.

• Leadership: Ability to lead and develop team members, build strong cross-functional partnerships, and drive alignment across stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

• 8+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, employee engagement, or related disciplines.

• Demonstrated experience developing communication strategies and leading complex communication initiatives in a global organization.

• Experience partnering with executive and senior leaders on business-critical communications.

• Experience managing employee engagement programs, internal events, digital communications platforms, and external vendors.

• Proven ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple complex priorities simultaneously, exercise sound judgment, and drive work from strategy through execution.

• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across functions.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

• Experience leading and developing communications professionals.

Success Measures

• Employee understanding of key priorities and organizational updates.

• Effectiveness and adoption of internal communications platforms and channels.

• Engagement with communication, recognition, and employee programs.
