We are looking for a skilled Data Consultant with 3-5 years of experience in building and developed enterprise-grade applications. You will work within the Digital Solutions team to build scalable, secure, and high performing business applications used across major global infrastructure and environmental projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to support the ongoing development of digital solutions for our client’s, unlocking solutions to the world’s most critical challenges. This includes the delivery of future net zero, renewable energy, transport and water infrastructure solutions in the UK and globally. You will take a developer role in our established Digital Solutions team, working with the latest technologies, helping deliver high quality, bespoke solutions to our clients. The role is a blend of development, operations & system administration to assist in expanding the deployment of our templated solutions.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytical solutions using SQL Server and Python, ensuring data quality, performance optimization, automation, and operational efficiency.
Integrate, extract, transform, and model data from diverse sources including SQL databases, SharePoint, APIs, ArcGIS, and Python-based data services to support enterprise ETL and analytics requirements.
Develop and deliver robust reporting and data solutions by collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex requirements into actionable insights and scalable data products.
Build and support automated data ingestion, transformation, and incremental loading processes, while monitoring and maintaining data pipelines to ensure reliability, accuracy, and availability of business-critical reporting.
Apply data governance and best practices, including data security, role-based access control, version control, deployment pipelines, and lifecycle management across analytical platforms.
Leverage Python and AI-powered capabilities to automate repetitive tasks, enhance data processing workflows, and support the development of foundational Generative AI and AI Agent solutions, including prompt-driven automation and intelligent data retrieval processes.
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including database schemas, ETL workflows, SQL procedures, Python scripts, API integrations, AI solution architectures, and operational runbooks to support governance, maintenance, and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement through data engineering, automation, machine learning, and emerging AI technologies
REQUIRED ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
3-5 years of hands-on experience in Python and SQL, with strong expertise in data modeling, query optimization, and developing scalable data solutions.
Proficient in Python-based data engineering, automation, and analytical workflows, including data extraction, transformation, processing, and performance tuning.
Strong expertise in SQL Server database design, relational data modeling, schema architecture, query optimization, and efficient management of large-scale datasets.
Experienced in building AI-enabled and Generative AI solutions, including prompt engineering, AI-assisted automation, intelligent data processing, and integration of AI capabilities within Python and SQL-based applications.
Advanced knowledge of SQL development, including complex queries, joins, stored procedures, indexing strategies, and performance optimization techniques.
Skilled in integrating data from multiple enterprise and external sources, including REST APIs, SharePoint Online, SQL databases, enterprise systems, and cloud-based services.
Strong understanding of RESTful services, JSON, OData queries, and API-driven architectures for automated and dynamic data ingestion.
Experience developing AI-powered analytical solutions that combine Python, SQL, and machine learning techniques to generate actionable business insights and improve decision-making.
Proficient in designing and implementing scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and automated workflows using Python and SQL technologies.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with the ability to translate business requirements into efficient data and AI-driven solutions.
Experience with GitHub, Azure DevOps, and modern software development practices, including version control, CI/CD, and application lifecycle management.
Good understanding of Power BI integration with Python, SQL Server, APIs, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse to deliver intelligent and scalable business solutions.
Knowledge of enterprise data governance, security, deployment pipelines, row-level security (RLS), workspace management, and data refresh strategies.
Ability to leverage Generative AI, Python, and SQL to automate business processes, enhance productivity, and develop innovative data-driven solutions.
Skilled in extracting, transforming, modeling, and analyzing complex datasets using Python, SQL Server, and AI technologies, enabling continuous process improvement and advanced analytics.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
• With at least 5+ years of experience in Microsoft Power BI Platform Technology.
