Category Marketing Director

Your role

Sunday has been built on exceptional products and strong high-intent search. Our next phase of growth is about building powerful categories - with clear audiences, compelling benefits, and distinctive stories, brought to life consistently across every touchpoint.

As Director Category Marketing, you will build this function from the ground up. You’ll lead and grow a team of Category Managers, empowering each of them to own and develop their category like a business. You’ll establish the operating model that connects product development with marketing execution and take ownership of the commercial performance of your categories.

• Build and lead the function - hire, develop and lead a team of Category Marketing Managers, each owning a category end-to-end

• Own the portfolio - recommend which categories we prioritise, how investment and resource are allocated between them

• Set the operating system - audience definitions, benefit architecture, briefing standards, GTM playbook, launch process - so every category runs to the same standard rather than reinventing it each time

• Own category growth - revenue, new customer acquisition and margin across the portfolio, including the hard trade-offs between categories

• Be the bridge between product development and marketing execution (creative teams, channels): turn product innovation into audience-led propositions, all lathering up to the brand positioning

• Drive integrated activation with Performance, Brand, Creative, Social, Influencer, CRM, PR etc. for the full funnel (one plan per category)

• Lead the flagship launches (e.g. all-in-one, sleep) and build the playbook that makes every launch after them faster

• Represent the category agenda to the leadership team and shareholders - priorities, performance, investment cases

Your profile

• 10+ years in category, brand or product marketing ideally with FMCG, consumer health, supplements or DTC experience - at least 5 years experience in leading teams

• Proven track record building a category or brand marketing function

• Full ownership of a portfolio or business line, including P&L accountability

• DTC fluency - with a clear view of what each channel can and cannot do

• Exceptional at turning consumer insight into positioning and a category story that holds across the entire funnel

• Strong analytically: data, forecasting, financial modelling, and building an investment case that survives scrutiny

• A builder: pragmatic, hands-on, creates structure where none exists and brings people with them. Thriving in ambiguous situations

• Strong in collaboration, positive can-do spirit, lead by influence cross functionally

• Genuine interest in supplements, wellness and clean-label, science-driven products

• Fluent in English (German is a plus)

Sunday Natural emerged from a long-standing passion and research in the fields of health, healing, and personal growth. The lack of natural, high-quality products on the market was the original motivation for founding Sunday Natural in 2013. We aim to produce the products we ourselves would love to buy – as natural as possible, absolutely pure, free from any additives, and of the highest quality. In a strategic partnership with CVC, Sunday Natural is now one of Germany's most renowned quality manufacturers, with its own research and development department in Berlin. For the continuous improvement of our products, we collaborate with selected research institutes, scientists, therapists, farmers, and professional associations.

Our diverse team in Berlin consists of over 400 employees from more than 45 nationalities and continues to grow – but at a sustainable pace. Our goal is to foster a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive work environment with a diverse group of motivated, talented, and visionary team members.

We highly value equality of opportunity and inclusivity, and we would like to particularly encourage women and candidates from under-represented backgrounds to apply, even if you don’t match with 100% of the requirements.
