Product Designer

About Orb:
We’re a team that cares deeply about the work, the people we do it with, and the customers we do it for. Everyone at Orb has real ownership over their work, direct access to customers, and a voice in how the company grows. We’re building the revenue design platform that helps teams automate billing, evolve pricing, and grow revenue with confidence.

Looking ahead, joining forces with Adyen expands what we can build and raises the ceiling on the problems we get to solve for customers. The challenges are uniquely interesting, and you’ll be surrounded by thoughtful, ambitious people who move fast and hold a high bar.

For San Francisco Bay Area , New York, and Amsterdam residents, we've built a hybrid work culture where we are in office 3 days/week. For remote roles, we ask you to join us in person 1x per quarter. Our values, customer centricity, minutes matter, run with it, attention to detail, and go further together are at the core of everything we do.

About the role:

As designer at Orb, you’ll drive the end-to-end design process, from early discovery research through to implementation. You’ll own solutioning and vision setting for Orb’s revenue reporting and invoicing products in partnership with your team

Our team is thoughtful about what makes a world-class user experience. We value opinionated defaults with strong safeguards–and will look to you to help guide our users to the best outcomes.

In this role you will:

• Lead user research sessions—including discovery interviews, contextual inquiries, and usability tests—to deeply understand user workflows, uncover pain points, and validate solutions through prototype feedback

• Rapidly iterate on solutions through low- and high-fidelity prototypes, using each round to de-risk assumptions and sharpen the problem definition

• Partner with engineers and product managers from day zero to shape the direction of new initiatives, balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business goals

• Frame ambiguous problems into clear design opportunities, defining success criteria alongside product and engineering partners

• Actively participate in design critique—soliciting feedback early, offering thoughtful critique to peers, and raising the quality bar across the team

• Partner closely with engineers throughout implementation to ensure the shipped experience matches design intent, and make pragmatic trade-offs when it doesn't

• Contribute to and evolve the design system alongside other designers—proposing new patterns, refining existing components, and championing consistency across surfaces

• Communicate design decisions clearly to cross-functional stakeholders, grounding recommendations in user research, data, and craft principles

• Own the end-to-end quality of your work, from initial research through post-launch measurement and iteration

About you:

• 5+ years of professional design experience, preferably in B2B SaaS

• You excel at distilling complex workflows into intuitive user experiences

• You are a strong communicator that thrives with cross-functional collaboration and are excited about collaborating with product and engineering counterparts

• You work iteratively, sharing early and often

• You think in systems and are constantly evaluating how your design decisions interact with the entire product ecosystem

• You are able to break large design initiatives into smaller, shippable pieces without sacrificing usability

• You have an exceptional eye for detail

You might be a great fit if you:

• Get excited about content design/UX copywriting

• Have experience working on products that are designed for accounting and finance personas

Benefits:

• Excellent medical, dental, and vision insurance

• One Medical membership

• Unlimited PTO plus an additional week off between Christmas and New Year’s

• 401k plan

• 16-week paid parental leave with equity vesting

• Commuter stipend

• Catered lunches in the office
