- Reports to: Sr. HR Manager
- Location: Utah Fulfillment Center, 2607 S 3200 W, West Valley City, UT 84119. On-Site 100%, No Remote Options
About the Role
You will serve as the on-site HR presence for Backcountry's Utah Fulfillment Center, owning the full people function for a high-volume hourly workforce where your decisions directly shape culture, retention, and operational performance. Your scope spans every touchpoint of the employee lifecycle, and your impact is felt on the floor every day.
At 6-12 months, success looks like keeping a strong operation running: turnover holds steady, the supervisory team continues to build on its people management skills, and ER matters are handled with consistency, speed, and zero compliance exposure. Leaders trust you, employees know you, and HR is seen as a partner in sustaining operational results, not a back-office function.
This is a lean team. You will own a lot, move fast, and make decisions with full end-to-end responsibility.
What you get to do every day:
Operational HR Partnership- Serve as a key HR partner to FC leaders on day-to-day people operations.
- Participate in decision-making discussions that impact staffing, retention, and culture.
- Help create accountability through shared ownership of people metrics and leadership cross-training. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding- Lead local onboarding efforts, ensuring a welcoming and consistent new hire experience. Employee Experience & Retention- Champion the full employee lifecycle—from onboarding to development milestones and recognition.
- Identify trends from exit interviews and employee feedback, and use insights to improve retention and engagement.
