Software Engineer – Cloud Security Segmentation Platform

At eBay, Cloud Security protects one of the world’s largest commerce ecosystems. Our Segmentation platform secures thousands of services, workloads, and databases across Kubernetes clusters, cloud providers, and data centers.

We’re looking for software engineers who are passionate about building scalable distributed systems and eager to leverage AI to accelerate development, improve software quality, and continuously learn. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers to build the next generation of cloud security platforms that power and protect global commerce.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for eBay’s Cloud Security Segmentation platform.
• Build features for Kubernetes-based control plane services and cloud-native security platforms.
• Develop reliable, well-tested software using modern engineering practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, and observability.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, product managers, and SRE teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues across distributed systems, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and incident response to continuously improve system reliability.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development efficiency, testing, debugging, documentation, and code quality.
• Continuously learn new technologies and contribute to improving engineering processes through automation and innovation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 3+ years of software engineering experience.
