About the Team and the Role
This role will be part of the Americas Corporate Indirect Tax team, providing indirect tax technical advice and support to internal stakeholders across eBay’s core marketplace, subsidiaries, and affiliated businesses! As a senior individual contributor, this role will independently manage complex indirect tax matters and cross-functional initiatives. It requires strong technical knowledge and judgment to translate tax requirements into clear, practical business partnership and to carry matters through implementation.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, self-directed tax professional with excellent analytical and investigative abilities, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to think critically and creatively. Success in this role requires a strong sense of ownership, comfort operating in a fast-paced and evolving environment, and the ability to build trusted relationships within Tax and across the broader organization. This individual will proactively identify indirect tax risks and opportunities, develop practical solutions, and continuously look for ways to improve processes and how we support the business!
What You Will Accomplish
-
Deliver timely, accurate, and practical indirect tax advice to business units across eBay’s core marketplace and broader portfolio of businesses.
-
Independently research and analyze intricate tax matters. These include proposed and enacted legislation and regulatory developments. Assess their impact on eBay’s businesses. Then develop appropriate recommendations and tax positions.
-
Evaluate new and evolving business initiatives, products, services, and operating models to uncover indirect tax implications and requirements.
-
Translate technical tax conclusions into clear business and functional requirements and partner with Product, Engineering, and other collaborators to support successful implementation.
