Instructional Designer

What does it mean to be an instructional designer at Netlight?

Netlight is growing and changing fast, and Learning & Development is where that capability gets built. As our instructional designer, you are the craft at the centre of a small global L&D team– turning what the business needs to learn into learning that works: well designed, well built, and worth people's time. You work alongside colleagues who own our learning areas end to end, and you make their programmes real.

Your days move between designing and building. You structure courses, workshops and self-paced modules around how adults learn, then author the content – including SCORM modules – and set it up in our learning platform and training-management system. You support delivery by preparing materials and facilitators, helping sessions run well, and stepping in to facilitate when it makes sense. You look after the practical detail and the data behind it – scheduling, completions, participation and feedback – and use what it tells you to sharpen the next version. It is a hands-on role with room to grow into owning a learning area of your own.

Who you are

• Around two years' experience in instructional design, learning design or a closely related role – enough to work independently on a brief, with room to keep growing.

• A relevant background in instructional design, education, learning sciences, educational technology or psychology – whether through a degree, a professional qualification, or equivalent hands-on experience in the field.

• Solid design craft. You know how adults learn and turn a fuzzy need into clear, well-structured learning.

• Hands-on tool skills. Comfortable authoring digital content and working with a learning platform; SCORM and authoring tools are familiar, or you pick them up quickly.

• Confident with AI. You use AI to work faster and produce more, but keep your own critical judgement in charge – checking, questioning and reworking what it gives you.

• Reliable and collaborative. You keep the moving parts straight and thrive in a small, hands-on team where everyone pitches in.

• Fluent in English; C1 German is a must.

We offer

• A real say in how a growing company learns – your work is used, not shelved.

• A close L&D team that sits together, shares openly, and helps each other grow.

• Room to develop your craft and, over time, to own a learning area of your own.

• A mentor and a coach to guide your development

• The backing of a 2,200-strong consultancy, with the feel of a small team inside it.
