Trilogy Federal is looking for a Senior Financial System Analyst with knowledge and experience in federal financial management data from Momentum Financials to support current and future opportunities on high-priority projects for the Department of Veterans Affairs. This role requires the ability to assist in analyzing financial and technical data to support reporting and decision-making aligned to VA leadership priorities. Define problems and develop plans and requirements in a subject area for complex systems. Coordinate and manage preparation of analyses, evaluations, and recommendations for proper implementation of programs and system specifications in IS architecture, automation, telecommunications, networking, communication protocols, software, email, M&S, or data storage and retrieval.
We are seeking candidates for a hybrid-location role in Arlington VA or for full-time remote work.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and functional support for data transition activities, including migrating legacy financial data to a web-based financial system supporting federal financial, budget, and procurement management processes.
- Analyze and document legacy financial systems and feeder systems, including data flows, system strengths and limitations, and general ledger posting logic to support an accurate and effective data conversion.
- Identify and formulate organizational target state requirements from written materials and verbal interactions with stakeholders.
- Brief leadership on mock conversion results and presented detailed requirements to key stakeholders.
- Daily use of Agile software to track requirements, defects, configuration requirements, and team workload.
- Serve as the General Ledger (GL) subject matter expert, leading tie-point and abnormal balance analyses, assessing complex GL posting logic for alignment with USSGL standards, and performing detailed reconciliations of financial data and reports between the legacy system and Momentum mock-converted outputs.
- Support conversion activities by documenting payroll and non-payroll accruals to ensure budget resources are accurately aligned across systems. Validate conversion journal vouchers to confirm accurate posting and support complete beginning balances and ending trial balances.
- Validate post-conversion financial reporting data to support GTAS Reporting, SF-133s, tie-point analysis, and DATA Act reporting.
