Purpose of the Role

Motortech AI is growing across dealer groups, OEM programmes and international markets. The business does not yet have a formal presales function or established presales structure. This role provides dedicated customer-facing sales and technical support while helping the business introduce practical, consistent and repeatable ways of working.

The Solutions Consultant works closely with sales, product, implementation and senior technical colleagues to support customer discovery, product demonstrations, solution discussions and proposal development. The role combines commercial awareness with practical technical knowledge, helping customers understand how AIME can address their needs while ensuring requirements, assumptions, risks and dependencies are captured clearly.

The role will help develop early presales templates, materials and working practices through hands-on experience. Accountability for overall presales strategy, complex architecture decisions and high-risk commercial decisions remains with senior leadership and relevant specialists. The Solutions Consultant is expected to manage assigned activities with appropriate autonomy, use emerging standards and previous examples wherever possible, and escalate unfamiliar, strategic or technically complex matters promptly.

Duties & Responsibilities

•  Support qualified sales opportunities by participating in customer meetings, discovery sessions, solution discussions and follow-up activities.

•  Conduct structured discovery to gather customer objectives, business requirements, technical requirements, operational constraints, integration needs and success criteria.

•  Prepare and deliver product demonstrations that connect AIME capabilities to the customer’s business and operational priorities.

•  Work with sales colleagues to understand opportunity context, qualification information, stakeholders and agreed next steps, and complete assigned presales actions within agreed timescales.

•  Translate customer requirements into clear presales outputs, including discovery summaries, solution descriptions, proposals, integration assessments, scope inputs, presentations and RFP responses.

•  Explain product capabilities, APIs, data flows and standard integration approaches clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

•  Assess standard and moderately complex integration requirements using available product information, technical documentation, prior examples and guidance from specialists.

•  Identify technical, delivery or commercial risks and escalate novel integrations, strategic OEM requirements or material areas of uncertainty to the appropriate senior colleague.

•  Respond to routine technical questions and common customer objections using product knowledge and agreed messaging, seeking specialist support where required.

•  Maintain accurate records of customer requirements, decisions, risks, actions, assumptions and technical dependencies throughout the sales cycle.

•  Prepare structured handover documentation for implementation, including agreed scope, requirements, stakeholders, open questions and dependencies, and support the transition at contract signature.

•  Help establish practical presales foundations by contributing to discovery templates, demo materials, proposal content, FAQs, integration guidance, handover checklists and objection-handling resources.

•  Test and refine emerging presales materials through use, capture lessons learned and recommend straightforward improvements to senior stakeholders.

•  Share recurring customer requirements, integration themes, product gaps and sales feedback with product, implementation and technical colleagues.

•  Build and maintain knowledge of AIME, relevant Keyloop products, customer environments, automotive retail processes and the technologies used in the role.

Knowledge and Experience

•  Relevant experience in a customer-facing B2B SaaS, software or technology environment, ideally involving solutions consulting, technical sales, sales engineering, implementation, customer success or technical account management.

•  Experience supporting sales opportunities through customer discovery, product demonstrations, technical discussions, workshops, proposal development or solution scoping.

•  Practical understanding of APIs, software integrations, data flows and common enterprise systems such as CRM, DMS or ERP platforms.

•  Experience gathering, documenting and translating customer business and technical requirements into clear outputs for commercial and technical audiences.

•  Understanding of the stages of a B2B sales cycle and the contribution presales activity makes to customer evaluation and opportunity progression.

•  Experience communicating with commercial, operational and technical stakeholders and adjusting the level of detail to suit the audience.

•  Experience working in an environment where processes, templates or ways of working are developing, with evidence of contributing practical improvements.

•  Experience using CRM, presentation, demonstration or sales-enablement tools is desirable.

•  Experience in automotive technology, dealer systems, OEMs, franchise groups or automotive retail would be advantageous but is not essential.

Skills and Abilities

•  Customer-focused and commercially aware, with the ability to connect customer needs to relevant product value.

•  Confident in preparing and delivering product demonstrations, solution presentations and structured discovery conversations.

•  Able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences and translate business requirements for technical colleagues.

•  Sound technical judgement when reviewing standard integration requirements, technical documentation and previous solution examples.

•  Able to solve straightforward and moderately complex presales problems using experience, established methods and guidance, while recognising when escalation is required.

•  Strong written communication, including discovery summaries, proposals, solution descriptions, RFP responses and handover documentation.

•  Well organised, with the ability to manage several assigned opportunities, actions and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and context.

•  Collaborative and comfortable working across sales, product, implementation and technical teams in an evolving environment.

•  Practical and improvement-focused, with the ability to help create useful templates and materials without assuming ownership of overall functional strategy.

•  Curious and adaptable, with a commitment to developing product, industry, sales and technical knowledge.

•  Able to work with appropriate autonomy while responding constructively to guidance, review and feedback. Why join us?
