Lead from the Front and Make a Lasting Difference

Every day, thousands of Lancashire residents rely on our Household Waste Recycling Centres to dispose of their waste safely and responsibly. As a Site Supervisor, you'll play a key role in ensuring those visits are positive, professional, and environmentally beneficial.

This is far more than a supervisory position. It's an opportunity to lead a team, support your local community, and help Lancashire deliver its ambitious recycling and reuse objectives. You'll be the person who sets the standard on site, creating a safe, welcoming environment for residents while supporting and developing the people around you.

Working closely with the Site Manager, you'll help coordinate daily site operations, guide and motivate operatives, and ensure high standards of customer service, health and safety, housekeeping, and environmental compliance are consistently maintained. You'll spend as much time leading by example as you will supervising others, remaining actively involved in the day-to-day running of the facility.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in achieving high standards, and can confidently respond to the challenges that come with managing a busy public-facing operation. Whether you're supporting a colleague, engaging with a customer, resolving an operational issue, or helping maximise recycling and reuse, you'll be at the heart of delivering an essential service to Lancashire residents.

Success in this role requires strong communication skills, sound judgement, and a positive, practical approach. You'll have the confidence to give direction when needed, whilst creating a culture where safety, teamwork, and excellent customer service come first.

In return,

You'll join a supportive organisation that invests in its people. You'll receive ongoing training and development, opportunities to gain and maintain industry-recognised qualifications, and the chance to build a rewarding career within one of the country's largest local authority waste management services.

If you're a natural leader who enjoys working outdoors, developing teams, and making a visible difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Bring:

Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate others.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

A commitment to health, safety, and environmental responsibility.

The ability to make decisions, solve problems, and work independently.

A passion for recycling, reuse, and delivering high-quality public services.

Relevant operational qualifications, or the ability to achieve them within an agreed timeframe.

What We Offer

Enjoy excellent development opportunities, industry-recognised training, varied and rewarding work, and the chance to make a genuine contribution to Lancashire's communities and environmental future as part of a dedicated and valued team.
