Deployment Manager

Burro is the leading robotics company in the world by number of robots working outdoors in the field with real customers. Our mission is to free people from tedious work and solve the critical labor shortages faced by farmers and others that work outdoors.

To accomplish our mission, we need a world-class, diverse team where everyone feels comfortable sharing their ideas. With this in mind, we strive to create a work environment where every employee can be themselves and express their perspective – this enables us to deliver the most creative and innovative solutions to problems our customers face.

Headquartered in Philadelphia with an office in central California, and backed by top Agtech and autonomy investors, including S2G, Catalyst, Translink, Cibus, FPrime, Toyota Ventures, FFVC, Xplorer, and Radicle, Burro was created to solve the labor shortages facing farmers using robotics.

Burros can be described as Disney's Wall-E for agriculture and work outdoors, in a 1.0 format. They function, today, as computer vision based autonomous ground vehicles for carrying, towing, and scouting, and are designed to lay the base for the fully autonomous future of work outdoors. We have a growing triple digit fleet deployed in paid commercial use within vineyards, nurseries, berries, and beyond, and demand for our product is accelerating, so we are growing our team.

Reporting to the VP of Customer Success, the Deployment Manager leads the technical activation of Burro's autonomous robots at customer sites – turning a signed contract into a fleet that's live, configured, and running at full capacity as quickly as possible. The Deployment Manager owns deployment planning, on-site provisioning and configuration, and go-live readiness, working hand-in-hand with customer stakeholders, field service, and engineering so that new and expanding accounts get a smooth, repeatable path to value. Once a site is live and stable, the Deployment Manager hands off to the Customer Success Account Manager for ongoing account growth and renewal.

Responsibilities:

• Design and lead high-touch, on-site deployment engagements – site assessment, fleet provisioning, RTK GPS and connectivity setup, and go-live readiness – for new and expanding accounts.

• Enable successful customer adoption by supporting setup of fleet management software, network/connectivity configuration, and integration with customer systems and workflows.

• Train on-site customer teams and operators on Burro's use, ensuring the site is ready for daily, independent operation before handoff to the Customer Success team.

• Collaborate with customer stakeholders, field service technicians, and engineering to resolve technical and mechanical blockers, support site safety and operational reviews, and validate deployment readiness so issues get solved once instead of resurfacing across the fleet.

• Maintain deployment timelines, milestones, and readiness checklists across multiple concurrent site deployments.

• Drive escalation of technical and mechanical issues to robot support and engineering teams during deployment.

• Document deployment learnings and standard configurations to continuously shorten time-to-value for future deployments.

• Proactively identify opportunities to improve the deployment playbook and hand off a stronger account to the Customer Success team.
