Account Executive

We're looking for an Account Executive to close new-logo business for Cytix in a market where most of the people you're calling haven't heard of us yet.
You'll be selling a product, not a service, into CISOs, security engineers and AppSec leads, which means the pitch has to work on its own merits rather than on brand recognition. This is a full-cycle closing role: you'll run discovery, demo and negotiation yourself, with support from the CRO on the harder deals while you build that muscle.

You'll carry mid-market opportunities to start, working alongside SDR-sourced pipeline as well as your own prospecting, with a clear path to Senior Account Executive as your quota, deal complexity and independence grow.

What you'll do

• Run full-cycle new-logo opportunities from qualified meeting through discovery, demo and close, sourced by SDR, Marketing and your own prospecting.

• Generate some of your own pipeline alongside SDR support, prospecting into a clearly defined ideal customer profile.

• Run structured discovery calls solo, identifying pain and priorities for your primary buyer.

• Close mid-market deals with negotiation support from the CRO as you build experience with more complex procurement.

• Maintain your own weekly pipeline and forecast, developing commit accuracy over time.

• Work SDR and Customer Success handoffs as directed, keeping CRM records clean and up to date.

What you'll bring

• 3–5 years' full-cycle closing experience in B2B SaaS, or a strong track record in an adjacent commercial role (for example SDR) ready to step up.

• A track record at or near 100% of quota (around £500k–£750k) in at least one of the last two years.

• Real consultative selling instinct: you'd rather understand a prospect's problem than run a script at them.

• Comfortable prospecting and selling into accounts with little existing awareness of Cytix, energised by the challenge of a cold or lightly-worked start.

• Visible drive and competitiveness, and a willingness to take on unfamiliar deal types or buyer personas when asked.

• Genuinely bright and inquisitive: good follow-up questions come naturally to you, and you're genuinely curious about the product and the security market, including how software gets built and secured.

• Drawn to a business where new challenges show up daily; you want to take ownership of them and lean in, rather than needing everything mapped out in advance.

• Comfortable taking yourself out of your comfort zone when a deal or a buyer is unfamiliar territory.

What you'll get

• Share options - If Cytix wins, you should too.

• Unlimited Holidays!

• Enhanced maternity and paternity pay.

• Pension - 8% (3% employer, 5% employee)

• Private Healthcare through Vitality including dental, optical and hearing

• Work from anywhere (WFA)

• Claude Tokens

• Celebrate your birthday with a day off work

• Octopus car scheme - Drive an electric car through salary sacrifice

• Inclusivity as standard - A team where you can do your best work as yourself, no asterisks.

About Cytix

Software never stops changing. Teams ship new code every day, through tickets, pull requests, releases, and increasingly with AI in the mix, but the way security keeps up with all that change hasn't really moved on.

That's the problem we're solving. Cytix helps organisations understand which software changes actually matter, what should happen next, and how to prove the right call was made. Security understood, in other words.

We're a small team with big plans, so every person we hire genuinely shapes what Cytix becomes. That's why we're upfront about our five values: we interview for all of them, and they matter to us more than a perfect CV. They're things you do, not things you are, so have a read and see if they sound like you.

Make the first move. When the goal is clear but the path isn't, you get moving rather than waiting for perfect instructions. If you're blocked, you make a sensible call, say what you're assuming, and explain how you'd course-correct. We'd rather you act and be slightly wrong than sit still.

Find the smarter path. You ask why before how. You dig into what the real problem is instead of just building what the spec says, and you're happy to question 'that's how it's always been done' when the reason behind it has gone stale.

See it through. When something's yours, it lands. No loose ends, no surprises for whoever picks it up next. You keep people posted when things change, and if something falls between roles, you catch it.

Raise the bar. You do the best job possible in the time you've got, whether that's a day or a month. Sometimes that means deep craft; sometimes the smartest move is quick and scrappy. It's about good judgement, and we hold each other to it without blame or politics.

Play to win. You care about the mission but don't take yourself too seriously. You say 'I' when things go wrong and 'we' when they go right, trust teammates to do things their own way, and bring a bit of humour when the pressure's on.
