The Opportunity

We're growing our infrastructure team in Denver and looking for an engineer who has gotten their hands dirty with both physical infrastructure and cloud environments — someone who's moved past tutorials and has real scars from production systems. You don't need to have all the answers yet, but you should be able to own a task end-to-end, ask good questions, and learn fast in a hybrid environment that spans data centers and AWS.

You'll work alongside senior engineers on a team that's actively building out our on-premises layer — provisioning servers, managing network infrastructure, extending our IaC practices, and keeping everything running reliably. This is a role where you'll be doing real work from day one, with mentorship and context from engineers who've built these systems before.

A note on what we're not looking for:

This role isn't for someone who's only worked in fully managed cloud environments and wants to stay there. The on-prem side of this team is real and growing — if physical infrastructure sounds boring or intimidating, this probably isn't the right fit. If it sounds interesting and you want to learn it properly, we'd love to talk.

Responsibilities

Hybrid Infrastructure

• Assist with deployment and maintenance of on-premises compute, storage, and networking infrastructure alongside our AWS environment

• Participate in bare metal server provisioning and OS deployment workflows

• Support day-to-day network operations: troubleshoot connectivity issues, help maintain firewall rules, VLANs, and VPN configurations under senior guidance

• Help maintain and document storage systems and cloud connectivity configurations

Automation & Platform Support

• Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible for both on-prem and cloud resources

• Support CI/CD pipeline maintenance and help onboard teams to existing platform tooling

• Assist with Kubernetes cluster operations — deployments, troubleshooting, resource management — across bare metal and EKS environments
