We’re Always on the Lookout for Brilliant Humans

At Octopus Energy, we don’t just do traditional job specs. We don’t love rigid job titles. And we don’t believe that great people only come along when you happen to have a “vacancy”.   We’re building something big - tech that transforms whole industries, teams that reimagine what brilliant looks like and products that people and customers actually love. That means our talent team are always open to meeting and speaking with exceptional humans who are passionate to help us do more of that.   Maybe you’ve run big teams and we don’t mean just managing FTEs - you’ll happily work with no direct reports, because your enthusiasm means awesome people will follow you, and you’ll get stuff done. Maybe you’ve shaped strategy, launched products, scaled operations or quietly turned chaos into clarity. Maybe you’ve done the big jobs but you’re still hungry to build something meaningful. You probably don’t need a manager to tell you what needs doing. You spot the gaps and get stuck in. We don’t work to backlogs, we don’t write business cases but we prioritise effectiveness and efficiency above all else. We expect accountability without process, and responsibility without functional shoulder pads. We get stuff done by knowing what’s right and sometimes that’s hard.   We don’t care what your last job title was. We care that you’ve got real experience a sharp instinct for what matters and a bit of fire in your belly to use it for something good.   There’s no neat box for this advert. You might be excited by operations, tech, customer, product, commercial, strategy or something else entirely. We’ve got a lot going on and the best people often help us figure out where they fit.   We’re a place where leaders still answer customer emails. Where we care more about effectiveness than process. Where job titles don’t matter as much as getting stuff done. Where accountability isn’t hidden behind decks or backlogs - it’s owned, lived, and felt. And where you can go from an idea to live in days, not months.   If this sounds like your kind of place and you’ve built or led things that mattered at scale - we’d love to hear from you. If you're not quite at a senior level in your career (think 10+ years under your belt) there is still a place you can register speculative interest here   Tell us what excites you and where you think you could make an impact. We’ll take it from there.
