Venue Sales Rep

Supporting women in field sales in the energy industry

At Octopus Energy, we’re on a mission to make energy fair, clean, and simple for all using technology. To get there, we need brilliant people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives helping us change the industry.

Women account for 49% of full time employees in UK, yet they remain underrepresented in many commercial roles. In sales roles women only make up around 35% in the UK and 29% in senior commercial positions, which is roughly 1 in 4 roles. We want to help change that by creating a field sales environment where women can build confidence, grow their careers and progress into leadership.

We’re looking for incredible people across the UK to join our team as Venue Sales Representatives. Forget traditional field sales! We’re reinventing customer interactions and showing people that talking about energy can be engaging, helpful and fun!

You’ll be one of the friendly faces of Octopus Energy, meeting customers in well known venues across the UK. You’ll start genuine conversations, explain what makes Octopus different and help people make energy choices that work for them and the planet.

You don't need to know everything about energy or sales. We’ll give you the training, support and tools you need to thrive. Previous sales experience would be a real advantage, but we’d also love to hear from people with strong customer focused experience and a natural ability to connect with others. This is not about traditional sales or scripts. It’s about listening, connecting with people and bringing your personality to work

We have some amazing women working with us; here's a sneak peak of their experience in this role so far.

Who we are:

We're making energy fair, clean, and simple for all using technology. Powering over 10 million homes in Britain and abroad with award winning customer service and innovative green energy offers, while building a more sustainable energy system for tomorrow. We empower our people to give outrageously good customer service, and fight to make energy fairer, more affordable, and more accessible for all. We are striving to halt the climate emergency by unlocking a smart, 100% green grid. We are using technology to transform the energy system; making electricity green and affordable, creating one-of-a-kind energy innovations.

Our work is powered by freedom, autonomy and responsibility. We won best company to work for in 2022 on Glassdoor and were voted as one of the best places to work in 2026 from the Sunday Times. Our Group CEO, Greg, has recorded a podcast about our culture and how we empower our people - give it a listen to find out more about Octopus Energy!
