Product Support Deputy Branch Lead

Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking an exceptional Acquisition Program Manager for an exciting opportunity to support the Air Force's acquisition of Sentinel, the nation’s next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM).

Why BAE Systems? BAE Systems is the third largest defense contractor in the world known for our exceptional, mission-focused culture. The 800+ BAE Systems employees and sub-contractors located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, are closely aligned to the U.S. Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC). We support the Center in sustaining the existing LGM-30 Minuteman III (MMIII) weapon system and acquiring its replacement, LGM-35A Sentinel (formerly known as the Ground-Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD)). We are a uniquely-valued mission partner delivering daily technical excellence and innovative solutions to our government customer. For the sixth consecutive year, BAE was named among the Salt Lake Tribune's 2023 "Top Workplaces," by its employees, earning special distinction for providing a healthy work-life balance for our valued employees. We work very hard to ensure this is a great place to work!

Why Utah? You’ve got to see it to believe it! Utah is an amazing state with diverse geography, an eclectic culture and an exceptional quality of life. We are located north of Salt Lake City at the foot of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains. The area offers an incredible range of outdoors pursuits across the seasons including hiking, climbing, hunting, fishing, camping, boating and world-class skiing at resorts that hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics. The state is home to five amazing National Parks and an easy drive from two more—Teton National Park and Yellowstone, famously, the first national park in the world. The Salt Lake City area offers a vast array of cultural activities and businesses including multiple professional sports teams. It is a western states hub for exceptional, cutting-edge medical care with people traveling from across the region for a range of nationally renowned specialty care centers and doctors. The Salt Lake City International Airport is expanding and offers easy, direct access to just about anywhere you want to fly.

Why SENTINEL? There is never a dull moment on this strategic effort, a cornerstone for the nation’s security! The Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Program will completely replace the aging Minuteman III (MMIII) ICBM, an undertaking not performed in over 50 years. This program is considered a “mega-project” and one of the most complex in the history of the Department of Defense. The new ICBM weapon system acquisition effort brings with it the newest digital engineering tools and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices to meet existing warfighter requirements, while having the adaptability and flexibility to affordably address changing technology and threat environments through 2075. As part of the U.S. Air Force's Integration Support Contract (ISC), BAE Systems provides advisory and assistance services in the areas of engineering, logistics, management, scientific analysis, and other subject matter expertise to augment and optimize management of the Sentinel ICBM Prime Contractor.

Candidate will serve as an Acquisition Program Manager and work with a highly skilled team providing mission-critical materiel management, logistics, product support integration across all integrated product support elements, maintenance planning and management, technical sustainment, and digital acquisition/sustainment project management, reporting, and program integration functions on behalf of the Sentinel System Program Office. Candidate will serve as an acquisition subject matter expert, key program advisor, and a focal point for the assessment and reporting of Sentinel program status, including technical performance, contract performance, enterprise integrated master schedule health, and risks, issues, and opportunities. Candidate will operate in an organizational culture that develops and challenges employees to achieve high performance in a fast-paced, high-morale workplace using streamlined management policies and procedures. This is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to shape the development and deployment of the next generation intercontinental ballistic missile—the national security critical backbone of our nuclear deterrent capability. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performing team within a large defense company known for our extraordinary, positive culture and mission focus. You will become a trusted mission partner to the innovative, digital engineering-driven Air Force organization that is responsible to design, build, test, transition, and sustain the world’s safest, most secure, and effective land-based nuclear deterrent, on-schedule. Ultimately, this is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to shape the development and deployment of the next generation intercontinental ballistic missile—the national security critical backbone of our nuclear deterrent capability.
