Department: Sales – Grocery & Retail Vertical
Reports To: Regional POD Lead

About Vori

Vori is transforming the future of the $1T grocery industry through an integrated operating system designed for independent and regional grocers.

We’re a rapidly growing fintech + vertical AI startup backed by top investors, providing cutting-edge point of sale (POS), payment processing, and inventory management solutions that empower local retailers to thrive in a world dominated by retail giants like Walmart and Amazon.

Our mission is simple but bold — reduce food waste, improve food access, and strengthen local communities. By connecting retailers, distributors, and brands through technology, we’re helping grocers operate smarter, faster, and more sustainably.

The Role

We’re looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to help us grow our footprint across the Pacific Northwest.

As a BDR at Vori, you’ll be responsible for building pipeline and opening doors for our Territory Account Executives (TAEs). You’ll prospect new grocery and specialty market accounts, research ownership groups, and connect with decision-makers to educate them on how Vori’s AI-driven platform can simplify operations and increase profitability.

This role is ideal for someone hungry to break into technology sales, ready to learn full-cycle selling, and motivated by seeing their outreach turn into real, measurable impact for small businesses.

What You’ll Do

• Generate new opportunities daily: Cold call, email, and use social channels to connect with independent grocery stores, markets, and distributors.

• Build the top of the funnel: Identify high-potential prospects through territory research, LinkedIn, Google Maps, and local outreach.

• Book qualified meetings: Schedule and coordinate introductory calls and demos between grocery operators and our Territory Account Executives.

• Collaborate with your TAE: Strategize weekly on territory plans, local events, and creative outreach campaigns.

• Maintain pipeline hygiene: Track activity and engagement in HubSpot CRM to ensure data accuracy and pipeline visibility.

• Experiment and iterate: Share learnings and feedback with leadership and product teams to continuously improve outreach messaging and targeting.

What You Bring

• 1–2 years of experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles (internships count).

• Proven ability to cold call, build rapport, and handle objections with confidence.

• Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple priorities.

• A self-starter mentality — you’re scrappy, curious, and energized by building something new.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM tools preferred.

• Passion for technology, local business, or the grocery/retail ecosystem a big plus.

Bonus Points For

• Experience in a startup or fast-growing environment.

• Previous exposure to POS, payments, SaaS, or fintech solutions.

• Grocery or retail background (worked in or around the industry).

Why Join Vori

• Competitive base + uncapped commission.

• Pre-IPO equity at a Series B, venture-backed company.

• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits.

• Rapid growth and clear career path — top performers are promoted to Territory Account Executive roles.

• A mission-driven culture focused on community, sustainability, and innovation.
