The Sr. Engineer– HCM Integrations will partner closely with the HCM Integration Manager as a key technical leader for the team. Responsibilities:
● Act as the principal technical counterpart to the HCM Integration Manager, providing coverage and continuity across technical responsibilities.
● Provide day-to-day technical leadership for integrations supporting HCM and third-party platforms including Fidelity, Shareworks, Aetna, and other benefits, payroll, equity, and enterprise systems.
● Serve as a secondary escalation and decision-making point for critical HCM integration issues, reducing dependency on any single leader or technical resource.
● Build redundancy across critical systems through documentation, cross-training, knowledge transfer, runbooks, and clearly defined primary/secondary ownership.
● Partner with the HCM Integration Manager and business stakeholders on roadmap planning, prioritization, resource allocation, architecture decisions, vendor management, and delivery execution.
● Provide technical oversight across HCM and OIC development, including architecture/design reviews, code quality, testing, deployment practices, monitoring, and production support.
● Mentor and develop engineers and help establish consistent engineering practices across the team.
● Provide leadership coverage during the HCM Integration Manager's absence and ensure continuity of critical business and engineering operations.
● Identify areas of concentrated knowledge or ownership and proactively develop succession and coverage plans.
● Support incident management and ensure critical integrations have appropriate monitoring, escalation paths, recovery procedures, and backup ownership.
Required Qualifications & Experience
● 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise application engineering, HCM technology, integrations, or a closely related technical discipline.
● Demonstrated experience serving as a Lead Engineer, Principal Engineer, or Staff Engineer with responsibility for leading complex technical architecture and guiding engineering best practices.
● Significant hands-on experience with enterprise HCM platforms and HCM integrations, preferably within complex, large-scale environments.
● Strong experience designing, developing, supporting, and troubleshooting integrations between HCM platforms and third-party providers across areas such as benefits, payroll, retirement, equity/stock administration, identity, and employee data management.
