Business Development Manager

Job Description

Help us grow our business in the Czech and Slovak market

We are looking for a Senior Sales Manager who knows the Czech market, understands how large organisations buy technology and, ideally, already has a strong network of relevant contacts.

You will focus primarily on Czechia, with responsibility for the Slovak market as well. We would ideally like you to be based in the Czech Republic.

What will you do?

• Build and develop relationships with key customers and decision-makers in the Czech and Slovak market.
• Identify new business opportunities and turn your market knowledge and network into a qualified pipeline.
• Open doors to new customers
• Lead complex B2B sales processes from the first conversation through negotiation and closing.
• Work with senior stakeholders across business, IT, engineering and procurement.
• Understand customer challenges and work together with our consultants, architects and delivery teams to shape the right solution.
• Sell IT services, consulting and technology solutions – not just predefined products.
• Develop opportunities around areas such as software and product development, cloud, data, AI, digital transformation and engineering services.
• Take ownership of your pipeline, forecasting and commercial targets.
• Use your understanding of the Czech and Slovak market to help us identify where we should focus and where the biggest opportunities are.

Who are we looking for?

You have solid experience in B2B IT sales / business development, ideally in a company providing technology services, consulting, engineering or system integration.

We are particularly interested in people who have sold consulting or professional services, rather than only off-the-shelf software or hardware products.

You will probably be a good fit if you:

• Have experience in B2B sales, business development or strategic account management.
• Know the Czech enterprise market and understand how large organizations make technology purchasing decisions.
• Have an established network of relevant contacts in Czechia and ideally Slovakia.
• Have a track record of winning new business, not only managing existing accounts.
• Can sell something that is not always easy to put into a catalogue or price list — consulting, engineering and technology expertise.
• Can speak confidently with C-level and senior IT/business stakeholders.
• Are commercially driven, proactive and comfortable opening doors and creating opportunities.
• Know how to work with presales, consultants, architects and delivery teams to turn a customer problem into a compelling solution.
• Are fluent in English and Czech/Slovak.

What would be a big plus?

Experience in areas such as:

• IT consulting and professional services
• Software / product development
• Engineering services
• Cloud, data or AI
• Automotive, telecom, audio or connected products
• Digital transformation
• Working with large enterprise or public-sector organisations

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who knows the market and knows how to get things moving.

You don't need to be the loudest person in the room. But you should be someone who can pick up the phone, call the right person, understand where the opportunity is and bring the right people together to make it happen.

Why Tieto?

You will join an established technology organization with strong capabilities, international reach and a broad portfolio of consulting, engineering and technology services.

You will have the freedom to use your market knowledge and relationships, while having the support of experienced consultants, architects and delivery teams behind you.

The opportunity is particularly interesting for someone who enjoys being close to the customer, shaping opportunities and building a market — rather than simply selling a predefined product.
