VP of People

Who we are: Nitra's mission is to build a more efficient healthcare system and the technology that makes it possible.  Our goal is to provide an ecosystem of fintech and software solutions that help doctors better manage their practices, so they can have time back to focus on what matters to them most.   We operate with urgency, intensity, and ambition. The bar is high because the opportunity is massive. We expect excellence, ownership, and intellectual rigor from every team member. We move fast, make bold decisions, and hold ourselves accountable to results. At the same time, we believe great companies are built on trust and respect. Every voice matters. Every contribution counts. When we win, we win together.   We are scaling rapidly and on a clear trajectory toward becoming a unicorn this year — and beyond. Our growth is not accidental; it’s the result of disciplined execution, relentless focus, and a team that refuses to settle. We are building a category-defining company, and we’re looking for people who want to do the most meaningful work of their careers.   If you want comfort, this isn’t the place. If you want impact, ownership, and the chance to help build a generational fintech company, welcome.   Nitra was created by unicorn founders who have successfully scaled to thousands of customers and exited $1B+ public offerings. They are joined by an ambitious and experienced team from American Express, Citi, PayPal, Capsule, Plaid, Bloomberg, Meta, Facebook, and Mastercard. The team is backed by some of the world’s leading VCs (Andreessen Horowitz, NEA, etc.) and is supported by an expert group of advisors including the cofounders of Square and Xendit, executives from Intuit, former Governors, White House senior staffers, and a co-founder of CityMD.   Nitra maintains a hybrid work policy, with team members working from the office four days per week and Wednesdays designated as a work-from-home day.   We're looking for: A VP of People to own and scale our people function during a critical phase of growth. This role will partner closely with company leadership and hiring managers across Sales, Product, and Operations to align talent strategy with business goals, build high-performing teams, and develop the people systems needed to support rapid, sustainable growth.   You’ll lead end-to-end recruiting strategy and execution while also owning core people programs, including onboarding, performance management, manager enablement, and employee experience. You’ll define hiring frameworks, standardize interview and evaluation processes, and ensure we hire consistently, fairly, and at a high bar. Beyond hiring, you’ll design scalable people infrastructure—policies, processes, and tooling—that support team effectiveness as headcount grows.   This is a senior, highly cross-functional leadership role for someone who combines strong operational execution with strategic judgment. You’ll be hands-on where needed, trusted as a thought partner to leadership, and instrumental in shaping our culture, talent density, and long-term organizational health.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Own and scale the company’s People strategy across hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee experience during a high-growth phase
• Partner closely with executive leadership and department heads to translate business goals into headcount plans, org design, and people priorities
• Lead end-to-end recruiting strategy, including hiring frameworks, workforce planning, and bar-setting across GTM, Product, and Operations
• Build and standardize hiring processes, role definitions, scorecards, and interview practices to ensure consistency, fairness, and high talent density
• Develop and maintain clear metrics and dashboards for hiring, retention, performance, and engagement; regularly report insights to leadership
• Design and implement scalable onboarding, performance, and manager enablement programs that support fast, effective ramp-up
• Coach and support hiring managers and people leaders on interviewing, feedback, performance conversations, and team development
• Own foundational people infrastructure, including job leveling, documentation, policies, and tooling as the company scales
• Serve as a steward of company culture and values, ensuring they are reflected in how we hire, develop, and retain talent

You have:

• 8+ years of experience in People Operations, Talent, or HR, including experience operating at a Director or equivalent senior level
• Experience scaling small companies to mid-sized organizations in a short timespan across multiple geographies, offices, and countries (e.g., 50 to 300 people)
• Proven experience partnering with executives and senior leaders in a fast-growing startup or scale-up environment
• Ability to maintain a high velocity, fast-paced culture across departments through major growth milestones
• Experience managing complex compensation plans across different types of functions
• Strong judgment and ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution when needed
• Deep experience building and scaling recruiting and people systems from early-stage to growth-stage
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organization
• Comfort owning ambiguity and setting direction where processes don’t yet exist
• Experience with modern ATS and HR tooling (e.g., Lever, Greenhouse, HRIS platforms)
• Experience supporting both GTM and technical organizations
