Software Engineer

Lead Agentic Software Engineer

This is a great opportunity to work at the frontier of AI-augmented software delivery, on challenging technical problems from a strong position of influence.

At Scott Logic, we already have a reputation for world-class software engineering. Our clients are some of the world’s leading organisations and have long trusted us to build reliable, high-performance, business-critical solutions. They now expect us to help them unlock the productivity benefits of agentic AI development – how to best adopt the tools, but also crucially ensuring they have the right foundations and guardrails in place and supporting the wider shift in day-to-day workflows.

You will typically be leading a small, tight-knit multidisciplinary team, working with our clients to solve tough software problems, as well as having a real impact on how they evolve their development practices. You’ll foster stakeholder relationships and advise on key technology and software delivery decisions. There's also plenty of opportunity to contribute more widely across Scott Logic, collaborating and sharing knowledge with colleagues as we collectively learn and adapt, and helping to shape upcoming projects.

What we are looking for

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for passionate, proactive technologists. As a company we are technology agnostic and use the right language, tooling, and frameworks for the job. That means we’re open minded when it comes to your existing skillset, but we value the following:

• Strong technical leadership experience, understanding what makes a team successful and how to support colleagues in their own career development

• A background in at least one of Java, C#/.NET, Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, and their associated ecosystems – understanding how to design and build well-structured, maintainable systems.

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to work, allowing you to build trusted relationships with clients, coach colleagues and get the job done.

• Good awareness of the evolving state of AI tooling, and the enthusiasm to make the most of what's possible.

• A problem-solving mindset, able to pragmatically explore options and find effective solutions.

• Adaptability and embracing the chance to learn, experiment, and grow your experience.

In return

we offer an environment with real autonomy, the opportunity to broaden your knowledge and diversify your experience, to progress your career in the right direction for you – building expertise in using modern AI development tools to tackle business-critical work.    At Scott Logic, we value the flexibility of remote working alongside the value gained from spending time with our colleagues and clients. In our offices, you’ll find employee-led clubs and events, as well as free games, books, and refreshments. The role is likely to involve occasional travel (day trips or a few days at a time, once or twice a month) to visit our clients, across the UK and beyond. We are proud to be a B Corp, a global movement of businesses driving for a more inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. We believe diversity drives innovation, and embrace a culture where everyone can contribute, irrespective of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status or disability. We have shared values that govern our behaviour toward others and the environment.
