About the Role
RecargaPay is building the financial super-app for Latin America, and Lending is one of our fastest-growing verticals. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Lending squad, you'll own the backend systems that power our credit products — from risk decisioning to the loan lifecycle experience inside the app. This is a high-ownership role. You'll work on systems where correctness, resilience, and security are non-negotiable, and where the quality of your thinking has a direct impact on financial outcomes for millions of customers.
Requirements
- Design and build backend services that support the full credit journey — origination, analysis, disbursement, and repayment — with a focus on customer experience.
- Contribute to risk-aware system design: model edge cases, reason about failure modes, and build controls that protect customers and the business.
- Write production-grade Java/Spring services on AWS, with a strong emphasis on observability, fault tolerance, and security. Participate actively in technical decisions — architecture reviews, RFCs, incident retrospectives — and influence how the team solves hard problems.
- Collaborate closely with product, data, and risk teams to translate complex business requirements into reliable, maintainable software.
- Mentor peers through code reviews and technical discussions, raising the bar without gatekeeping.
What We're Looking For
-
Strong backend engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience in Java and Spring (Boot, MVC, Security, Data).
-
Solid AWS experience — you've designed and operated distributed services in the cloud, not just deployed to it. A structured approach to problem analysis: you don't just solve the ticket — you understand the system, the tradeoff, and the downstream risk.
-
Comfort operating autonomously: you drive tasks to completion, surface blockers early, and don't need someone to define the next step for you.
-
Clear, direct communication — you can explain a technical position to an engineer, a product manager, or a risk analyst without losing the substance.
-
Experience building systems where reliability and security are first-class concerns (financial services, payments, or regulated domains is a plus).
Nice to Have
- Experience in credit, lending, or financial products. Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar).
- Knowledge of fraud prevention, risk scoring, or compliance patterns.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
Benefits
- Competitive and market-aligned salary.
