Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Key Responsibilities

•    Testing failure analysis and improvement, Applying state-of-the art experimental and theoretical skills to technical problems.
•    Developing test methodologies and test systems
•    Developing people and equipment capability in the field of fiber optics and optical metrology
•    Functioning as a key individual expert
•    Plan and conducts mechanical and environmental test programs on optical fiber products as required, and provide detailed test reports tp document performance in timely manner,
•    Develop test methods, based on internal and external test documents and industry specification.
•    Provide support to other engineers in development projects, like test failure trouble shooting.
•    Design, build and automate optical systems for active and passive fiber optics products
•    In collaboration with technology team, determine the performance of future fiber optical products  and develop an appropriate measurement method
•    Develop calibration test procedures and establish measurement uncertainty for test equipment/systems
•    Plan and execute product test programs
•    Develop tools for data analysis
•    Document test methodologies and test results
•    Develop and implement methodologies to optimize measurement performance
•    Review and approve test reports •    Coach and certify lab technicians to test methods
