COMPASS (Comprehensive Performance & Analytics for Bus Systems) is LTA's strategic analytics platform for bus operations. It consolidates data from fleet management systems, onboard devices, and operational platforms to provide actionable insights that support data-driven decision-making across LTA and public transport operators (PTO). As COMPASS continues to evolve, new initiatives are being developed to enhance bus operations through predictive maintenance and AI-enabled insights. These initiatives require enhancements across application development, system integration, data processing, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and platform operations.

What the officer will be doing?
• Responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining web applications and backend services supporting the COMPASS platform:
• Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications and user interfaces for COMPASS platform.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and microservices to support business functions and data processing requirements.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and system features.
• Design and implement reusable, maintainable, and scalable software components.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
• Apply frontend engineering best practices, including responsive design, accessibility, performance optimisation, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Implement secure coding practices and comply with LTA security requirements.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Work closely with UI/UX designers and business users to improve application usability and user experience. • Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. • Support application troubleshooting, defect resolution, and production support activities • Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver solutions and support knowledge sharing across the project team.
