• Read and interpret work orders, drawings, coating specifications, and inspection requirements to determine correct blast profile and anchor pattern
• Inspect surfaces prior to blasting and after for mill scale, rust, weld spatter, and contaminants; communicate deficiencies to the lead or QC.
• Set up and break down blast equipment including pots, hoses, nozzles, and containment
• Monitor and adjust air pressure and abrasive flow to achieve specified surface finish
• Perform daily equipment inspections — check hoses, couplings, nozzles, and deadman handles; report deficiencies immediately
• Work in coordination with the coatings crew to maintain production flow and minimize time between blast and coat
• Maintain the blast area; reclaim and recycle abrasive media where applicable
• Properly dispose of blast waste in accordance with site EHS procedures and waste manifests
• Follow all PPE requirements — supplied air respirator, blast hood, leather gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots are required at all times in the blast area

Other duties may be assigned as needed to support business operations.
