About the Role:
We have opportunities for a Reading tutor. You will become an expert tutor!
As a Reading Tutor at Braintrust Tutors, you will work with middle school students in a school setting to strengthen their reading comprehension, fluency, and critical thinking skills. Using our structured intervention programs and materials, you will deliver consistent, high-impact tutoring that meets each student where they are.
As an in-person tutor, our priority will be to match you with those engagements. However, you may be considered for additional online roles if you would like to complete your schedule with us.
Opportunity Details:
- Seeking dedicated Reading educators for in-person support within Birmingham Public Schools
- Employment Type: This is a part-time contractor 1099 role
- Days: Tutoring will be 3 days/week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday
- Estimated starting date: October 2026
- Location: Malachi Wilkerson Middle School
- Pay Rate: $60/hour, prorated by session

What You Will Do:
- Provide small-group reading tutoring to students developing literacy skills
- Implement Braintrust Tutors' intervention programs as designed, using all materials with fidelity
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic performance
- Collaborate with the Braintrust Tutors Operations team and school staff to support student growth
