Sales Director

Role: Sales Director
Location: Madrid, Spain

THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re MiQ, a global programmatic media partner for marketers and agencies. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, so you will be too. With over 1,000 people working together to shape our fantastic culture, no matter the role or the location, we’re all united in the vision to lead the programmatic industry and make it better.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
We are looking for a Sales Director to lead MiQ’s agency growth in Spain. This is a market-building commercial role focused on shaping MiQ’s position in market through proactive new business development, senior relationship building and excellent end-to-end commercial leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the commercial direction for Spain, building strategic relationships, generating and converting opportunities, and creating the foundations for long-term revenue growth. Working closely with a dedicated international cross-functional team in London, this person will play a pivotal role in how MiQ is represented, differentiated and scaled in market over time. It is an exciting opportunity to join at an early stage, with the chance to help shape future growth opportunities as the market develops. This will come to bear through being a:

1. Commercial leader – building MiQ’s agency footprint in Spain from the ground up, creating momentum through proactive new business generation, senior market engagement and excellent commercial execution
2. Strategic growth driver and new business seller – executing on the Spain go-to-market plan, identifying where MiQ can win incremental share through capability-led, omnichannel managed service selling and solutions
3. Senior stakeholder and partnership builder – developing strong relationships with strategically important agency stakeholders, client decision-makers and broader market influencers, ensuring MiQ is well positioned as a valued partner in Spain

KEY RESPONSIBILITITES

• Drive commercial growth in Spain through:

  • Delivering a clear commercial strategy across Spain at both agency and client level, with a focus on building MiQ’s market presence and reputation from the ground up
  • Mapping stakeholders across target agencies to focus prospecting on the right people, creating a consistent flow of qualified commercial opportunities
  • Identifying and converting opportunities through compelling, insight-led proposals and clear articulation of MiQ’s omnichannel capabilities
  • Responding to briefs with pace, quality and strong commercial judgement, ensuring MiQ is consistently well positioned in competitive situations
  • Leading commercial opportunities end to end, from prospecting and brief attainment through to proposal, media plan delivery, negotiation and close

• Build strong market relationships and presence by:

  • Developing strong and constructive relationships with agencies, built on trust, credibility and a deep understanding of their business challenges and growth priorities
  • Helping shape the go-to-market narrative for Spain, ensuring MiQ’s product suite, including Sigma, is positioned in a way that is relevant and differentiated in market
  • Supporting the development of market-facing materials, thought leadership and event content that help build MiQ’s profile and credibility with Spanish agencies
  • Representing MiQ externally with strong commercial judgement and a high bar for storytelling, proposals, pitching and general market-facing execution

• Deliver operational rigour and commercial discipline by:

  • Establishing a strong new business pipeline, ensuring Salesforce forecasting tools are up to date and provide clear visibility on commercial progress, risks and opportunities
  • Taking ownership of monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting for Spain, with accountability for delivering against revenue and GP targets
  • Working closely with Solutions, Trading, Product, Account Management and Marketing to ensure opportunities are well scoped, internal processes are followed, and campaigns are set up for success

• Contribute to the foundations for long-term growth by:

  • Contributing positively to future hiring and onboarding as the Spain business grows, helping set a high bar for culture, ambition and market excellence from day one
  • Bringing market insight back into European and global teams so Spain priorities are reflected in broader commercial and product plans

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Substantial experience in digital, data, analytics or programmatic sales, with a strong track record of building revenue through agencies and advertisers in Spain
• Strong understanding of full-funnel, omnichannel monetisation – across CTV, YouTube, high-impact display, DOOH, audio, native and social – including the nuances of each channel and where they can unlock growth for clients
• Clear evidence of building senior partnerships with the right agency stakeholders and client leads, with a track record of delivering meaningful revenue growth through those relationships
• A strategic and commercial mindset, able to identify where MiQ can win incremental share in Spain and translate that into clear go-to-market plans, narratives and actions
• Excellent presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to build compelling proposals and articulate end-to-end media, analytics and technology solutions from briefing stage through to delivery
• A self-starting, hands-on approach: you are comfortable operating autonomously in a new-market environment, progressing opportunities end to end and setting a high bar for commercial execution without requiring close oversight
• A people-first and collaborative style: you naturally self-orientate towards others, build strong cross-functional relationships and can lead through influence while helping create the foundations for future team growth in market
• A curious and confident approach to using AI; you are keen to keep building your understanding as the space evolves, and are excited about the opportunities AI brings to commercial strategy, sales effectiveness and customer conversations
• Fluent Spanish and English, with the confidence to represent MiQ effectively in both local and international settings
• An ambition and strong, growth-oriented mindset to help MiQ establish its position in Spain – a clear can-do attitude and desire to grow alongside MiQ as we build in market

We’ve highlighted some key skills, experience and requirements for this role. But please don’t worry if you don’t meet every single one. We strive to find the best people, and we might see something in your background that’s a fit for this role, or another opportunity at MiQ. If you have a passion for the role, please still apply.
