What's in the Box
As HelloFresh evolves, our Finance team remains at the heart of the business! In Finance, we like to think of ourselves as all-rounders. We not only strive to be experts in accounting standards and their implications for the business, but also aim to provide valuable insights and contribute to improving workflows and decision-making across the organization.
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our collaborative Finance team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract, with an expected end date of 31 December 2027. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact by managing and improving our Nordic accounting processes while reporting to our Head of Accounting & Controlling.
What You'll Do (The Recipe)
-
Serve as the functional owner and subject matter expert for Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and inventory accounting across two warehouses and three Nordic markets in a fast-paced, high-volume business environment.
-
Conduct in-depth variance analysis of pricing fluctuations, raw material costs, and packaging expenses, providing actionable financial insights to leadership.
-
Manage end-to-end reporting and month-end close activities for COGS and packaging, ensuring accuracy and timely financial reporting.
-
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for workflows outside the month-end close (MEC) process to streamline closing timelines and improve visibility into margin performance.
-
Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Supply Chain, and warehouse operations teams to investigate discrepancies, resolve issues at the source, and ensure alignment between operational changes and financial reporting.
-
Support audit readiness, month-end close procedures, and ad hoc controllership projects as a key member of the Finance team.
What You'll Bring (The Ingredients)
-
Passion, drive, and excellent communication skills.
-
A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent qualifications.
-
At least 5 years of experience working in finance or accounting.
-
Previous experience in a fast-paced business environment, with hands-on experience in inventory and COGS accounting.
-
Strong attention to detail and an understanding of data structures, complex systems, and workflows.
-
Strong proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets.
-
A keen interest in financial systems and experience working with ERP systems. Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud is a plus.
