Position Description

Vice Presidents at CRA are the leaders of the firm, and in that capacity they have a multi-faceted set of responsibilities to:

• Drive meaningful levels of profitable revenue through the development and expansion of client relationships;
• Advance the development of the firm’s intellectual capital through innovative client work, publications, speaking engagements, or other thought leadership channels;
• Develop talent through a commitment to recruiting, coaching, and training roles; and
• Represent CRA effectively and ethically as an officer of the firm, using outstanding professional judgment on all client and internal CRA issues, including demonstration of fiscal responsibility and professional/collegial behavior.

Beyond these common requirements, each practice area at CRA will have evolving and varying needs of its leaders, and each Vice President candidate will bring a unique set of skills and experiences.  Our goal through the recruitment process is to best understand the fit between a particular practice’s growth aspirations and strategy, and the contributions that the candidate may bring, to ensure the highest quality match between the two.  The dialogue between CRA and the candidate will typically cover the candidate’s own growth and career ambitions; expertise in the market; client relationships (both sector and geographic); economics of the individual’s business; track record of talent development; leadership experience, interest, and capabilities; and other areas of relevance to the needs of the practice.

Why CRA?

The ideal candidate for CRA is an individual who values the opportunity to build.  CRA offers a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture that emphasizes the importance of creating long-term value for our clients and our colleagues.  About 70% of our officers have been with CRA for more than five years, which enables a level of collegiality and stability that fosters a multi-disciplinary approach to excellence in meeting client needs.  At the same time, we thoughtfully integrate our more recently arrived VPs so as to leverage their ability to deepen and broaden CRA’s capabilities and reach.  We invest in the training and development of our practitioners, and encourage their initiative, creativity, and professional growth through a robust curriculum and learning culture.  The vast majority of our practice and corporate leaders were practitioners at CRA and elsewhere, ensuring a culture that remains focused on serving clients and nurturing talent.

Desired Qualifications

Successful candidates will have a proven track record in marketing and developing business with new and existing clients; exceptional client relationship, team, and project management abilities; and superior relationship-building skills, establishing credibility and trust within the firm and across the market.

Career Growth and Benefits

• CRA’s robust skills development programs, including a commitment to offering training annually through formal and informal programs, encourage you to thrive as an individual and team member. Building on existing analysis and leadership skills, training continues with our Core series, addressing team and client management, as well as becoming a client thought partner and advisor, among other topics. Additional leadership and collaboration opportunities exist through internal firm development activities.
• We offer a comprehensive total rewards program including a superior benefits package, wellness programming to support physical, mental, emotional and financial well-being, and in-house immigration support for foreign nationals and international business travelers.

Work Location Flexibility

CRA creates a work environment that enables our colleagues to benefit from being together in the office to best deliver on our promise of career growth, mentorship and inclusivity. At the same time, we realize that individuals realize a range of benefits when working from home periodically. We currently ask that individuals spend 3 to 4 days a week on average working in the office (which may include traveling to another CRA office or to a client's location), with specific days determined in coordination with your practice or team.
