About the role
We are seeking a strategic and operationally minded Director, Order to Cash to join our Accounting team. Reporting to the SVP, Corporate Controller, this role owns the end-to-end Order-to-Cash function — revenue operations, billing, collections, and payment settlements — for 8am.
This role combines strategic process ownership with hands-on operational leadership. Reporting to our SVP, Corporate Controller, you'll take a function that already has strong revenue accounting and make it more scalable, more automated, and more connected to the rest of the business.The revenue function is a core part of this role's scope, not a secondary one, spanning both payments-based revenue and SaaS/subscription revenue. You will own processes end to end, build and develop high-performing teams, and lead initiatives that materially improve cash flow, customer and merchant experience, and efficiency across the business.

What you'll do
- Own end-to-end billing, invoicing, collections, and payment settlement across our subscription and transaction-based revenue, including reconciliation of payment transactions and merchant settlements.
- Lead operational oversight of the revenue function, covering both SaaS/subscription revenue and payments-based revenue, and partner with our Accounting Manager on ASC 606 revenue recognition.
- Build a collections strategy that drives down aged receivables and improves recovery rates across customer and merchant segments.
- Select and improve the billing, collections, and payment tools we use (Stripe, Workday, Salesforce, TSYS, Zuora), and build documented processes that cut manual work and error risk. • Hire, mentor, and develop a team of managers and specialists across billing, collections, and payment operations, and set the KPIs and service-level goals they're accountable to.
