Who We Are:
NaturalMotion is an award-winning UK game studio dedicated to crafting world-class mobile experiences. Alongside our continued live-service development on CSR Racing 2 (#1 drag racing series of all time), our team is stepping into its next chapter with an ambitious, unannounced project. Honoured for eight consecutive years as a GamesIndustry.biz Best Place to Work in the UK winner and named a Top 50 UK Game Maker in 2025 and 2026, we offer a collaborative studio culture backed by the global reach of Zynga and Take-Two Interactive.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Server & Infrastructure Engineer to join our server engineering team. In this role, you will work on core backend systems and backend services, contributing directly to live services and build systems with minimal supervision. You will help manage and expand our infrastructure, automated CI/CD pipelines, and development tools while collaborating closely with technical leads to build reliable, high-performing server environments. You will have a passion for large-scale high-availability systems, a devotion to software craftsmanship, an unwavering commitment to quality, and the desire to have their work seen by tens of millions of people worldwide.
We embrace a hybrid work environment. Within this role, you would work 2 days per week in our London office and the remaining days at home.
What You'll Do:
- Server & Infrastructure Execution: Complete multi-day backend engineering tasks with minimal guidance. Design, deploy, and support scalable server architectures and cloud infrastructure.
- DevOps & Pipeline Automation: Build, maintain, and optimise robust CI/CD workflows and automated deployment pipelines across cloud environments and build platforms.
- Architecture & Planning: Participate in technical planning, architectural brainstorming, and technical cost/complexity estimation for multi-week efforts.
- Team Efficiency & Quality: Proactively identify workflow bottlenecks and drive initiatives to improve overall engineering team productivity, tooling, and code quality.
- Technical Communication: Participate in internal tech talks, share best practices, and maintain collaborative peer relationships across engineering squads.
What You Bring:
- Programming Languages: Demonstrated proficiency in Python, Go and C# for backend services, automation scripts, and custom tooling.
