Advanced Reentry Technologies
**Who We Are:
**
Inversion is an aerospace and defense company pioneering advanced reentry technology to enable next-generation capabilities from space. By combining high-performance materials, precision aerodynamics, and mission-driven autonomy, Inversion is transforming reentry into an operational capability for an entirely new class of missions.
The company’s highly maneuverable reentry spacecraft, Arc, is designed for rapid global cargo delivery, hypersonic testing, and other national security missions that require precise, controlled flight through the atmosphere. Arc creates an entirely new transportation domain, unlocking unprecedented speed and global reach.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, Inversion designs, manufactures, and integrates its spacecraft under one roof, enabling the company to move rapidly from concept to flight. The company is backed by leading investors including Y Combinator, Spark Capital, and Lockheed Martin Ventures, with customers across the U.S. government and commercial space industry.
What You'll Do
As an Electrical Test and Assembly Technician II at Inversion, you will report directly to the Manager of Arc Vehicle Avionics. You will install, integrate, test, and troubleshoot flight avionics hardware on the Arc hypersonic reentry vehicle, including flight computers, power systems, navigation sensors, radios, remote I/O, instrumentation, and electrical harnessing. You will execute detailed build and test procedures, support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and vehicle integration campaigns, and work directly with avionics engineers, manufacturing, and vehicle integration teams to deliver reliable, flight-ready electrical systems. This is a hands-on role requiring strong electrical craftsmanship, disciplined execution, and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Typically 2+ years of hands-on experience in avionics integration, electrical assembly, harnessing, electronics testing, or a related aerospace, defense, automotive, robotics, or high-reliability hardware environment.
- Demonstrated ability to read and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, connector pinout tables, mechanical drawings, work instructions, and test procedures.
- Hands-on experience with wire preparation, crimping, connector pinning, soldering, cable assembly, and basic harness fabrication or repair.
- Experience using electrical test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, continuity testers, or breakout boxes.
