CIVIL Site/Land Development Internship

Simply Put, A Great Place to Work

Benesch is a growing, multi-disciplined planning, engineering, and professional services firm. We enhance infrastructure and communities across the country – creating spaces and providing connections in ways that make a difference.

We pride ourselves on being nimble enough to remain responsive to client needs yet large enough to offer exceptional bench strength. As a member of our team, you’ll have an opportunity to draw from those resources when you need them and, likewise, contribute your expertise when you have something to share.

At Benesch, we are looking for candidates with varied backgrounds and worldviews. We are committed to offering an inclusive work environment where everyone feels valued and respected. Statistics show that women and underrepresented groups are less likely to apply for a position if they don’t meet 100% of the qualifications. If this statement resonates with you, don’t be so hard on yourself—apply for the job!

Civil Site/Land Development Internship

At Benesch, our commitment to innovation and collaboration extends beyond our projects. We believe in nurturing talent from the ground up, making it a core part of our values. Whether you’re seeking your first internship or ready for the next step in your budding career, Benesch is hiring individuals to join our dynamic teams across the country!

As a Civil Site Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the planning, designing, and constructing of civil engineering projects. Working alongside experienced engineers and planners, you will contribute to site inspections, technical drafting, data analysis, and project design.

This internship provides exposure to real-world projects that shape communities and offers valuable insight into project management, regulatory compliance, and construction practices. You will conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and verify that construction aligns with engineering plans, while also assisting with feasibility studies, zoning research, and due diligence reporting. In the office, you will support engineers in designing stormwater management systems, site layouts, and other infrastructure projects, preparing and updating technical drawings with AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Your responsibilities will also include compiling and analyzing data to guide project development, maintaining project documentation, and contributing to project reports.

Location

This internship will be based in our Nashville, TN or Franklin, TN office, with opportunities for field visits, mentorship, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

What We Are Looking For

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field

• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D (preferred but not required)

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Previous internship or field experience is a plus, but not required
