Marketing Designer

About Modo Energy

The energy transition is the biggest infrastructure buildout in human history. Modo Energy is the data platform at the centre of it.

We build the benchmarking, forecasting, and valuation tools that the world's most serious energy investors, developers, and operators depend on to make decisions. If a battery gets financed, built, or traded anywhere in the world, there's a good chance Modo Energy's data was in the room.

Founded in 2019, we're 90+ people across London, New York, Sydney, and Madrid; $30M Series B, AI-native, and moving fast.

This is a rare chance to join a category-defining company at the moment it's scaling globally.

The Role

We’re looking for a Marketing Designer to join our New York team where our marketing team is centred. This is primarily a marketing design role; you’ll spend most of your time making Modo Energy look great, across events, the web, social, and sales collateral, with a generalist skillset that also flexes into brand and product design when needed.

We move fast and have strong opinions about how Modo shows up - what we need is someone who can bring those to life beautifully, and over time help us raise the bar on craft and design thinking across the company.

You’ll report to our Director of Marketing and work closely with marketing, design and other teams globally. This is an entry-level role (up to 3 years’ experience) with real room to grow; Modo Energy’s marketing team is still growing in the US and the design function is being built, which means your work will have outsized impact from day one.

What you’ll work on

• Web and email - the Modo Energy website, emails, and campaign pages
• Events and physical design - NYC Climate Week events, in-person and virtual workshops, conference stands, signage, and print
• Social and motion - LinkedIn assets, short motion pieces, video graphics, and podcast artwork
• Sales and data collateral - decks, one-pagers, customer case studies, and charts that make complex energy data clear

What we’re looking for

Essential

• A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional visual taste - clean layout, typography, composition, and a consistent brand across formats
• Strong Figma skills, plus working knowledge of emerging AI toolsets to support image creation, video graphics, etc.
• Up to 3 years’ experience in marketing, brand, or graphic design, in-house, agency, or freelance
• Primarily marketing-focused, with a generalist skillset and some time spent on brand and product design
• Fast, autonomous, and able to context-switch between a conference stand, a landing page, and a social post in the same week
• A genuine eye for detail and a high personal bar for quality
• Enthusiasm for learning about energy and the world of BESS, solar, and wind. No prior knowledge needed

Nice to have

• Motion design experience (After Effects or similar)
• Experience designing data-rich visuals, charts, or dashboards
• Event or print production experience
• Experience using AI tools in your creative workflow

Compensation & Benefits

• For New York Applicants, the salary for this position is $75,000 - $100,000+ per year, depending on experience
• Equity for everyone
• 25 days PTO plus 10 paid Holidays annually
• 100% employer paid medical, dental and vision coverage
• 401(k) with matching

We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, New York State, or New York City law

What You Can Expect From Us

We're hybrid: everyone works Tuesday to Thursday in office, with Monday and Friday flexible. We offer top-of-market compensation, equity for every employee, and the space to take your career wherever you want it to go.
