We are X, bigly labs, Dis-Chem’s high-performance innovation hub; a place where bold ideas meet data, design, and radical customer focus to reimagine what healthcare can be.
Our mission is to power the future of healthcare by lowering costs, unlocking new possibilities, and improving access to healthcare for all South Africans. We do this through cutting-edge digital solutions that deliver smarter, more human, and truly patient-focused experiences. Here, your work is not limited to a whiteboard; it becomes real. It drives decisions, shapes experiences, and moves healthcare forward. We are driven by one big question: How do we use data and today’s technology to build breakthroughs to better health?
There’s only one question left: are you ready to make healthcare smarter, and actually mean it?
The Senior Data Analyst leads the analyses behind the business's hardest questions and owns the health of the reporting estate. The role applies statistics and effect measurement to high-stakes decisions, sets the chapter's analytical and visual standards, leads the rationalisation of the Power BI and Grafana estate, and mentors junior and intermediate analysts.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?
Minimum
- Able to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment and the ability to translate vague requests into definable value.
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 or more years in data analysis or business analytics, with decisions changed by your work.
- Expert SQL on large datasets.
- Data modelling literacy: reads and navigates star schemas and gold models.
- Dashboard craft in Databricks AI/BI dashboards or an equivalent modern BI tool, plus deep Power BI for the legacy estate: semantic models with storage modes, relationships and security passthrough, no business logic in the tool, and report lifecycle governance.
- Observability tracking, event logging, and sessionised data experience, preferably with Grafana.
- A track record of presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders.
Advantageous
- Python or R for deeper statistical work.
- Experimentation platforms and causal-inference methods.
- Google ecosystem experience.
- Knowledge of data pipelines and medallion architecture in Databricks.
- Retail data, ideally pharmacy retail. Healthcare or financial services also count.
