Head of Strategic Programmes

About Salary Finance

Working with employers, we provide a financial wellbeing platform as an employee benefit, helping employees to understand their money better, get out of debt faster and save for their future. We already have a reach of over 4,000,000 employees through our relationships with over 600 of the biggest companies in the UK.

By improving employee financial wellbeing, we have a very real and meaningful impact on people’s lives. We remove the stress and worry associated with financial difficulties by dramatically reducing the interest rates employees pay on their personal debt, and provide them with the tools needed to start saving sooner and be more financially secure. We are backed by some of the biggest brands, including investments from Blenheim Chalcot (the UK’s leading venture builder), Legal and General (the FTSE 100 insurer and asset manager), Experian and funding partnerships with JP Morgan and Blue Owl.

Launched in 2015, we have made excellent progress, and are scaling fast. We are named BITC’s Responsible Business of Year 2018, included in KPMG’s Global Fintech 100, listed top of the Forbes' list of socially-responsible startups, and profiled by the Financial Times, the Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Guardian, the Telegraph, CityAM and the Institute of Directors.

Your role in our mission

As Head of Strategic Programmes, you'll be the person the business turns to when something matters, cuts across multiple teams, and needs to land properly. You'll report directly into the Chief Product Officer and take ownership of our most important cross-functional initiatives, from go-to-market for new products through to internal projects that touch several parts of the business at once. You'll build the discipline, structure and momentum needed to get these initiatives over the line, and you'll grow the strategic programmes function over time.

What you’ll do

• Own end to end delivery of strategic programmes and projects that span multiple business areas, acting as the single point of accountability from scoping through to launch and embedding
• Lead go-to-market planning and execution for new product launches, coordinating product, commercial, marketing and operations so launches land on time and in a joined up way
• Take on internal, cross-functional projects as they arise, working out what needs to happen, who needs to be involved, and how to get it done without getting stuck in silos
• Build a strategic programmes framework, putting in place templates and ways of working that make future projects easier to run well
• Act as a trusted partner to the CPO and senior stakeholders across the business, translating strategic priorities into clear project plans with realistic timelines and resourcing
• Identify and manage risks and dependencies across projects, escalating early and clearly so decisions can be made in good time
• Report regularly on programme and project status, progress and outcomes to senior leadership, in a way that is honest, clear and focused on what matters
• Bring structure and pace to ambiguous problems, defining scope and success criteria where none currently exist

About you

• Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional projects in a fast paced business, ideally including product or GTM launches
• Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable working with and influencing senior leaders including C-suite
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities without losing sight of the detail
• Clear, confident communicator, able to flex between hands-on delivery and strategic conversations with leadership
• Comfortable building structure and process from scratch, rather than just working within an existing one
• Strong analytical skills, able to use data to inform decisions and track progress

Who you are

While we embrace diverse backgrounds and perspectives, we’re united by a shared mindset. We look for team members who live these values every day:

• Take Ownership: We own the entire journey and see outcomes through from start to finish
• Dig Deeper :We ask why, investigate root causes, and build solutions that last
• Stronger Together :We choose collaboration, share knowledge freely, and lift each other up
• Momentum Matters :We act with purpose, remove blockers, and default to action
• Make a Lasting Impact :We think long-term, put people before numbers, and change the system for good

• Company bonus scheme 💰
• 25 days holiday with an additional day off for every year of service up to 30 days and an extra day off on your birthday 🎂
• Hybrid working arrangements so you can work from the office and from home with a budget to help you get set up 🏠
