Summary
We're looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to help build the next generation of AI-driven security analysis at Theori. You'll play a key role in designing and implementing analysis capabilities that power Xint, our autonomous penetration testing framework, with a focus on mobile applications.
This is a foundational role on our US engineering team, ideal for someone with a reverse engineering background who wants to turn hands-on security research into automated systems. The work spans commercial products and U.S. government research efforts.
Key Responsibilities
-
Design, develop, and maintain analysis capabilities that power Theori's AI security platforms.
-
Build static and binary analysis tooling in Python on top of established reverse engineering frameworks.
-
Develop instrumentation and test infrastructure for evaluating applications on real devices.
-
Work with security researchers to turn manual techniques into automated, repeatable analysis.
-
Measure and improve analysis quality against real-world targets.
-
Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code in Python and related technologies.
-
Document and present technical results to customers and internal stakeholders.

• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience with reverse engineering tools such as Binary Ninja, IDA Pro, or Ghidra.
• Solid understanding of mobile platform internals, Android, iOS, or both.
• Familiarity with program analysis concepts such as control flow, data flow, and taint tracking.
• Self-directed, ownership-oriented, and comfortable driving projects from design to deploymen
• U.S. citizenship.
• Based in, or willing to relocate to, the Washington, DC metro area. The role is remote day-to-day, with periodic on-site work at client facilities in the DC area.
Nice to Have
• Experience with dynamic instrumentation tools such as Frida.
• Background in vulnerability research, including published CVEs.
• Experience with fuzzing.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM-driven workflows.
• Prior work on government-funded research programs.
• CTF experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
